Matthews is 2nd in league goal scoring. He is a big, number one centre. Matthews is not the Leafs problem. Their problem is that they need a top right hand dman and their top left dman is injured right now.

I also think Dubas did not make any trades today because he created this team and trading away players like Barrie would have weakened team chances of making the playoffs and possibly costing him his job. It is much safer for him to have Leafs regroup and make the playoffs as they only need to beat out Florida and everyone in Leaf land is happy.
