With his *Checks notes* 15 points, -4, on a non playoff team just like Chicago? Geez, I’m glad he noticed us!

I mean seriously, Buffalo has one of the lesser defenses in the NHL what are you on about.

He’s been okay, even good in stretches. He needs to do some training in the offseason and he will be an excellent forward.

Okay, well, now you are clearly as delusional as the real Stan...

You were wrong when you said what you said. He is a **** Nylander. He doesn't have what his brother has. If you can't see that, I'm sorry you lack a clarity of vision to judge prospects as bad as the real Stan does.

I love to say it, so I will, Alex Nylander isn’t going anywhere and no amount of bit*hing from the media or their brainwashed fans are going to change that. I’d suggest taking a closer look at Nylander on the 4th line, been much better. He’s been mismanaged his entire career (including us) he’s developing nicely and will be top 6 ready next year.

Him being much better on the 4th line somehow adds up to your assessment that he's "developing nicely" and "will be top 6 ready next year"? In what rickety, dumpy ass, rotted wood station does this crap-logic train crash into?

Take a lap, dude. Even YOU are somehow outdoing yourself.

He is learning how to play a two way game, and is fighting every night to be in the lineup. He has the skills, and is putting them together with work ethic and consistency now.

If anything he has been inoffensive with his play this year, he’s still young and the hawks have the luxury of letting him develop how he is.

If you cool off on the hate for a couple games and watch him play you would see that he is alright.

It doesn’t really matter to me, keep hating him, it’ll just make it all the sweeter when he breaks out.

I was working on this deal quite late last night as I live on Westcoast of Canada with ChiHawak to help out both teams and was hoping to get some real objective feedback on the trade from some diehard Hawk fans and all I get is some sidetract debate about Alex Nylander who was not even in the trade. What do you guys ie @Stan_Bowman, @JackBurton, @Krueger_Pharmaceuticals think of the actual hockey trade in this post. @ChiHawk

I don’t think it’s a great idea for the hawks to trade Strome and DeBrincat during a down year for the organization (I think the only good thing this year are the rookies, Dach, Boqvist, Kubalik, and only Kubalik is having a “Good Year”)

This move just feels like a short sighted, Win soon, move and I don’t think the Blackhawks are in that position anymore.

If you take out my player bias, perhaps it’s a fair trade, but I don’t think it makes sense for the Blackhawks and I’m not sure what this does for the leafs... do they really need more scoring?

Here's the thing, I don't hate him at all. I hope he stops being ****. Doesn't change the fact that he is **** currently. But I would love it if you could throw this in my face next season because somehow he turns a corner into a stud. I don't see it ever happening, but it would be to the team's benefit so I would happily have it tossed right back at me in such a manner. Let's see how it shakes out.

Is it decent? Maybe. Is it a good idea? No, not in my eyes. Yeah, Willy Nylander is great and puts up a lot of points. But how does he do outside of Toronto's shooting gallery style of play? I don't know that he'd look as good in Chicago. Also, there are questions about commitment to playing hard when it comes to him. To be fair, that may be 100% generated by Toronto's garbage ass media, but it is out there. Kap, eh, I'm undecided on how I feel about him.

Now, what does it say about the Hawks that they cast off 12 & 17 before their pay increases happen, just because they are having down seasons? It is a really bad look for Chicago. Plus, the Hawks are **** this year, it is a collective downcast in points, for 88, for 19, etc (only 8 is putting up great #s). The Cat is fearless, I love him. How often is he mixing it up with players several inches taller than him? Strome, yeah I can't tell if he's dumber than a box of rocks, or sort of unmotivated at times, but he always looks like his brain is halfway out the side of his ear... But that doesn't mean I want to give up on him. I absolutely DO NOT want smokin' Nick Schmaltz to win this round.

So yeah, overall, I want to keep our boys if the offer is just Willy and Kap, and no one is going to make a better offer anyway.

I'm bias against Strome especially with the emergence of Dach; so that's what the tips the scales for me. I think the Hawks need a dynamic winger like Nylander, but agree I'm mixed on Kap...love his speed for sure

I get this, but I don't think Dach should be thrust into a 2C role with the assumption that we can just eliminate the services of Strome because of it. Dach may need a little more time to continue his upward trajectory, and maybe 3C behind Strome is the right place for now. I think if you're Stan, you give Strome a 2-3 year bridge, see how he does, and give Dach the chance to take his job. Then when the time comes, you can figure out what to do with Strome.

The problem with the front office loving to do this "but it's a great story" crap they pull with every conceivable inch of this "one goal" club, is that when you go down that road, it is REALLY a bad sign to backtrack on it. "We're re-uniting OHL buddies Cat and Strome who made a ton of points together! It'll be keen!" But when the club has a down year, and its forwards do as well, you can't just launch Strome into orbit like that "feel good" story never existed. Other players think "****, I don't want to go to that team..." and your free agency issues become tougher (we've seen that). So to me, you have to stay the course with the pair of them a bit longer and see how it turns out.
