Description
With the addition of Ritchie who plays the left, does this mean Bjork could be included in a deal to the Devils for Palmieri? Im just trying to logically think why they would make that Ritchie move. It seems like a very lateral move for the Bruins, if anything making them a little worse.

Vaak would have to be in the deal. Heinen was "rumored" to be in it along with adding another prospect/pick. It's pretty similar to that type of package with only Bjork having a little more upside than Heinen. I dont know if Don would do it but just trying to make sense of the Ritchie move, if it was to free up cap space for the summer its a stupid move.

Yeah maybe, I like how Bjork plays on the left better than the right, and he looks more comfortable on the left side too. Idk if moving him to the right would be the best move.

They just got two wingers, they are not getting another winger and giving up their only terrific defensive prospect.
So not at all

Probably not the best move, but they are not giving up their only terrific defensive prospect and a top 6 forward for an older slightly better top 6 forward.
ESPECIALLY when they just got two wingers

Nick Ritchie is trash. They do this in a heartbeat as it’s fantastic value. Ritchie goes where he belongs, the fourth line, or the press level.

Why now? Why not in the summer time? Because his value could drop? It just doesnt make sense to make a cap space move right now, especially one this minuscule. 800k saved for next season? They could move all 2.6 for a pick at the draft if that was the case. If they dont make a bigger move before 3pm the heinen trade looks really stupid imo .

I think this is possible.

One thing the Devils are dealing with is both Vatanen and Palmieri trade scenarios would likely include some retained salary, but they cannot retain on both since limit is 3 (and they are already paying part of Hall and Simmons contracts).

Also, worth mentioning that the NJD went after Nick Ritchie a couple of years ago. No idea if they still like him...but would consider him in play too if a deal is to be made (not as replacement for two listed above, but as 3rd piece).

Well it comes down to; do you want to compete for the cup or do you want to hope all the big dogs get knocked out and you get a relatively easy ride to the cup? Gotta give to get in this league, especially on this day specifically. The Bruins havent pushed the needle at all really this deadline week.

You are underestimating Palmieri... perfect fit for Bs. Terrific two way player, grit, strong in possession and is likely 30 goal guy with the talent Boston puts around him. Not to mention a below market contract through next season, that's two playoff runs. He is not slightly better than Anders, that's just not a fair comparison... and Uhro is still only a prospect. Yes, a good prospect, but no guarantee he will be more. This is the cost of doing business.

Why the hell would they give up Hienen for a roster player if thewir goal was to bring someone else in.

Im right too, as is clear by the TDL passing.

Disclaimer: this isn’t my ACGM. I didn’t say that the bruins were looking to add Palmieri, although I think they were. I said the bruins would do this deal, and I stand by that. I don’t think the devils do it, because the value for them is bad. A deal not being struck does not make you right, at all, and i find it beyond absurd that you would reach that conclusion. That’s a bit, well, I’ll be nice and go with optimistic. To think you’re right because a deal didn’t get done...man. I wish I had the ability to be that self delusional.

Let’s pretend for a second that I was saying that this would get done, or that the bruins were trying to get this done, or whatever, which i think is what you were saying by saying you’re right? I could be wrong about that though, because it makes absolutely zero sense.

See, sometimes, in the NHL, teams try to make trades, and it doesn’t work. See, there’s a salary cap in the NHL, so sometimes teams will make a move to gain salary cap space so they can try to make another move. Sometimes, they’re able to make that move. Sometimes, they’re not.

@ngikas made a very logical post that was mostly just asking if Ritchie being acquired freed the bruins up to offer up Bjork in exchange for a RW, and you’re acting like everyone kicked your dog when they realize the ideas merit.

Take a lap. Actually, take two.

I didnt read half of that, and i dont care. Im not offended about it lol "someone kicked your dog" lol what?

I simply explained the FACT that they absolutely wouldnt make this trade, for a number of Perfectly valid and correct reasons. You than tell me Ritchie is trash and the value is correct, which it isnt (unless you undervalue Urho which im sure you do). I than proved myself right and was proven right by the bruins not making another trade.
Ritchie is gonna be a third line roster player, Kase will be 2nd line, Bjork will be 3rd line. Its so obvious.

And i simply explained how flawed your logic was. How do you know it’s a fact. Oh, sorry, a FACT that they bruins wouldn’t do this. They didn’t trade a 7th rounder for Crosby either but I’m pretty sure they would do it. Unless you were in the war room, you don’t know, same as I don’t know.
