I'm happy to see JGP on our team and I'm happy Lou traded for offensive but... that's steep. I hope he knows what he's doing. I think JGP will fit into our system well, and if he doesn't demand too much money I would love to see him stick around.

Choosing which team to deal with can make a huge difference. The value of Colorado first would have been a lot less if you predict them, as I do, a long run in the playoffs.
Thank god for that conditional 1st. I couldn't stomach having the Senators enter the draft with 3 potential lottery picks.
Regardless, I think that JG Pageau could really thrive on a Trotz team. Being plus-10 on the Sens speaks volumes of your defensive responsibility as well as offensive ability.

Are you saying a 2nd+conditional 3rd would have been fair? I think Pageau is worth more than that, but the 1st, 2nd, AND conditional 3rd is too much if you ask me.

OTT gets what would be role players on other teams to rack up points because there is no one else there to do it.
Someone has to net some points. So his numbers are inflated. Much like Dzingle was last year. He went to CBJ and didn't look close to the part then went to CAR and hasn't either.
You'd have a hard time convincing me he's even worth the 2nd and a 3rd at this point because he's a player of circumstance.
He goes on a good team, he's little more than a role player. Just go look at his history as a player. He hasn't really done anything worth that. His best year other than this year is 3 years ago at 19 goals other than that he's been basically nothing. I can't believe they gave him 5 million a year. Would you give a guy with that player history 5 million a year?
He's like a 12-15 goal scorer on a good team. That's not what you fork a ton over for.
