I think the Ottawa deals show that Kreider is staying put.

1) Either the Rangers don't want to move him. He seems to be extremely happy playing for them again and it would seem like a deal could be reached.

2) Teams balked at NYRs demands, even if they are fair in the current market. You can get quality NHL guys for less than a king's ransom.

talks hit an impasse yesterday.. kreider wants 7 yrs at over 7m.. no way rangers give that. He apparently turned down 6 yrs 6.75m and there is no way he is worth more than that

I still think St Louis or Colorado will pony up, even with Col getting Namestnikov. Rangers just have to drop adding lundqvist to the deal

Honestly though! They are just so risk averse. They're much easier to tell now what those picks are worth then they were on July 1st, but still. Potentially 3 picks for Pageau when you could have put out an offer sheet with those picks for somebody better and younger with more long-term control.

Those are high asks.. I think he is better than Eberle, but i thought he would get longer term and just a little more dough than him. Some contender will make a late push, I'm just not sure it will be enough unless the demands are lowered. 1st round pick, top 5 prospect in system, and a 3rd round pick would seem to be about fair.. But Kreider is a better player than most of the guys moving, so I really don't know if the Rangers would take that.

with what JP just got via trade I'm definitely saying Kyrou or Kaut will have to be in a deal for Kreider.. pick would be TBD. Minimally Kreider will get a 1st + 2nd + conditional pick on resigining
