With Parise being already 35+, that contract with 6 years left is far too risky to give up maximum value. Even half retained, getting a 1st is unlikely...

Leafs have moved on from Dumba as he is not the next Bobby Orr and could never possibly satisfy the Wild in adequate compensation in any hockey trade.

And I'd hope the Wild wouldn't trade for a player with no heart who can't score on a Zamboni driver.

Maybe a change of scenery would help, but seriously that team is filled with talented players who don't care and think they can get by with talent alone. There's no reason that wasn't a win for Toronto, Carolina was even on the 2nd half of a back-to-back and lost Pesce halfway through the game. I don't blame Leafs fans for reacting to that loss the way a lot of them have, it's completely inexcusable.

Yeah, I don't get why a few Wild fans seem to think we'd get a good return on Parise. I'd be surprised if it wasn't Parise for Ladd with salary retained to even the cap hit and Minnesota gets a 2nd round pick or something. That's probably fair considering Parise likely won't play the last 2-3 years of his deal when it drops to little actual money.

Wtf is wrong with me when I just called $1m little actual money. lol

Parise has scored 20+ goals in the last two years and 19+ before that. His only "bad" year was 2017 where he was hurt and missed half the year, but still scored 15 goals. He goes to the hard areas of the ice and has no quit. He's got at least 2-3 years left of similar production. If he retires from another team, they don't get hit with the harsh cap recapture, we do.

I'm trading him like he's a 35+ annual 20-goal scorer at a 4.5M cap hit and 3-6M/year real money for the next 3 years and 1M/year after that. Why do so many people think a player like that is worthless?

His injury history. He's hamstrung the Wild's cap situation plenty of years and that's a risk for a team to take on.
