JJ has not been the problem on that blue line.
FFS they had Chad R and Trotman out there together. Pettersson has not played well with Schultz who keeps turning the puck over.
This team desperately needs Dumo and Marino to come back.

I'd love to Jack off the ice, but it won't happen. Schultz has also been terrible this season though. I just hope they don't go out and sign Bogosian.

yeah I hate to break it to you but off the 6 defensemen I watched today, JJ was the least of their problems.
And JJ was doing just fine as a 3rd pairing guy till the injuries decimated the defense. A role he needs to go right back to. But how can he when you look at what else is there.
Riikola was sat. Chad R and Trotman are a disaster. Schultz can't play defense and turns the puck over. You are trying to blame whats happening on the ice on JJ......are you blind?

@pharrow hate to break it to you Mr. 1 man JJ fan club, but both years in PIT, and good last year in CBJ he was significantly below REPLACEMENT level... Like Trotman is a marginal upgrade over him level... (also Schultz hasn't been good... That's the one thing you got right in your post)

you clearly haven't watched games. JJ play has not been that bad. For every bad play you can name on him there are like 3 or 4 other good plays he's made.
You just don't give him credit for it. It's a lot easier to point out the bad than the good.
His year was going just fine until he ended up on the top pairing. He clearly does not belong there. I don't know why you want to blame his being there on him. They throw him in the deep end way over his head and I have to be honest, he's done better there than anyone else on the team would have. Do you really see things being any better with Riikola on the 1st pair? Hell Sully sat him.
Chad R and Trotman aren't going to look any better there either.

You got a guy who should be on the ice for 13-4 minutes a night in a limited role out there for 20+ on the 1st pair. Stop trying to act like him not being Dumo is somehow how on him. It's not.
You expect way to much out of a guy that's a 3rd pairing guy.
