It would require him doing something, so you have a point.

It seems to me that he is too afraid to lose the deal, and he is also unlikely to want to give away our first round. As a result, we will remain with all these defenders and without help in the attack, well, at least until the summer.

which is what we said last year

we are 8 points behind toronto with 2 games in hand. trocheck isn't a rental and fills a gaping hole in our roster.

He's essentially the best target for the Sabres. He is immediate top 6 help with two more seasons on his contract which is a perfect stop gap for one of cozens or mitts.

I totally agree with you, but it's Botterill. Dreger, LeBrun and the rest constantly say that Botterill is sweating and looking for a deal, but they have been saying this for more than a year, and as a result, nothing happens.

Yes, they are leaking for him to make him look better as defensemen are traded left and right.

I counted at least five teams that now need RD, and for some reason I have a feeling that Botterill will not do a damn thing again to get help ahead. As a result, when the team need is 3-4 wins for playoffs, he will sit at all this depth of defense and we will not have a couple of good forwards to get into the playoffs.

I hope, and i mean hope, that the problem is that botterill wants a center or a decent rw with term, and the offers he is getting are for 2nd round picks plus a bottom 6/B prospect plus cap dump. The market is the market. I dont see him moving our first, and i dont trust him to do it, so im hoping that somebody comes calling for one of our d and is offering something that can help us today, without our first being added.

Do you see the contradiction between the first part and last part of your post? You hope he is holding out for an impact player but then you dont want to pay up for an impact player?

Panthers decline. Change Rodriguez to a better center prospect and change it a top 3 protected instead of 10

Do you honestly trust him to add high value assets here? I sure as hell dont. Why is trocheck even "available"? Is it because he never got all the way back with his skating from his ankle injury?

You’re trying to pry a good second line center who gets 55 points still playing less minutes and pp time then before and doesn’t play with the same line mates everything game with a great contract. For a 3/4 right dman a player who doesn’t want to be on buffalo and mid range first. Panthers will be happily to keep trocheck or find a partner who’s willing to give up a player they want.

I read a lot of reviews from Florida fans and they are mostly unhappy with Trocheck, maybe he really can still be 2C for 55 points, but not a fact. Montour is a good #3, he will be one of your best defenders and he can play on both sides,

Trocheck is on pace for 55 points. Has played much better the second half and seems like
His ankle is finally healing Montour just doesn’t scream let’s trade our second line center with no replacement for. That’s why you’re gonna have to over pay.

But there was news that Florida was ready to trade Trocheck for defender, and here's the deal.

For top lhd defender but it’s for the right piece. It just doesn’t make sense to trade trocheck so I don’t even know where it started from. If we had someone waiting in wings but we don’t. So it just doesn’t make sense.
