I feel like this is exactly what happened last time the Rangers were rebuilding. A young Goalie took the league by storm and the rebuild was over and what did the Rangers have to show for it. NOTHING. Just a wasted career in Henrik Lundqvist and lots of 1st round picks sent away at the deadline. I would love to watch the Rangers play hockey in April and May, but I think they have to look at this in the long term. One more lottery pick couldn't hurt

I don’t disagree but you can’t tell the players and coach to try to lose. They’re having fun and winning and playing for their futures. Also if the trade offers aren’t there you can’t force a team to give up guys we want for Kreider.

I truly have a feeling offers are there for Kreider otherwise TSN would have taken him off the top spot on the trade board. The fact that they keep winning must have questioned JD and JG if they’re really this good and still have their young future, do they allow CK to walk if they can add a top 6 guy like a LeBanc(if it’s possible.) to go for this run keeping CK? Other question becomes does a CK trade destroy the locker room? Can it be a hockey deal but you still gain future assets as well as a top 9 player to take his spot? Maybe make another top 6 like trade?
Feeling is CK wants what Hayes got 7/50 and he can get that as a UFA. If NYR tell him 6X$6.5 is highest we can go... that is leaving $10-$11M in the table. Who is to say that he will ever get that $ back?
This is a tough one for the players and the fans.!
