I mean... Toronto probably says yes but I doubt Brodie does. If he did, Toronto flips Barrie and maybe uses the assets to acquire one more player.

If they trade Kapanen, it would be for guy that has control on his contract and is younger than that or bigger upgrade. Plus adding pick to Kappy in that deal is just bad. Brodie has Leafs on his no-trade list so thats a no-no.

Hard no from Toronto. Definitely would not adding a pick to that. Leafs should be receiving the 2nd if he doesn't resign

I'm not sure who Brodie replaces that makes the Leafs THAT much better on defence. And certainly not having Kapanen would hurt the Leafs now and in the future.
I'll disagree with folks that say Brodie invokes his NTC and refuses a trade to the Leafs. He's a UFA this summer, he would be keeping all his options open, especially a "Toronto" boy.

NJD deal - Calgary needs to add slightly here. Would suggest no or minimal salary retention and making he 2020 3rd conditional that moves to 2nd if CGY wins playoff round.
TOR deal- I doubt TOR would move KK for a rental d-man.
