Description
Obviously GMBM will not make all these moves, he's shown today that he really has no clue how to manage a team, this team was not so many pieces away from contending that they needed a complete and utter tear down, but you don't trade your young top 6 player under team control for years (he's an RFA when his current contract expires) when good top 6 forwards are nearly as big a need as RHD, and you don't get one back, unless you're starting a full on teardown, yes they got Axel back, you could argue that he fills that RHD need, but I doubt he ever becomes more than a right handed Jacob Larsson... Solid bottom pairing guy, but nothing more, those aren't hard to come by, nor do we lack them...

Holzer has signed a pact with the devil/GMBM that he will remain a duck for eternity and every first traded is lotto protected

If the Ducks hit on even half of those 2020 draft choices in a real deep draft I think they will be off to the races in rebuilding the team while LA and San Jose will continue to flounder for years.

Not sure I agree with your assessment on the Kase deal. BM tried to trade Kase earlier in the year, so he clearly wasn't keen on him and his injury problems. Even last year he expressed his frustrations with the team's seeming inability to stay healthy and Kase was a big part of that, missing most of the season. Not wanting to build your core around a guy who likely never plays 60+ games a year and is 1 concussion away from retirement sounds seems smart to me. If you're dissatisfied with the return on Kase, I understand, but I don't think this signifies the beginning of a tear-down rebuild. With that said, I LOVE the Rakell deal, especially if we get Laf or even another forward with our 1st. Grant trade should be between a 2nd or 3rd, hopefully. MDZ likely only nets us a 5th-7th. I'd trade Shore for whatever we can get. The rest I wouldn't trade personally.

laugh You're not getting Bouchard and Edmonton's 1st for Rakell, No way he's worth that much. And for the last time Fowler carries a 4 team trade list and no way Florida is on it. Reportedly the only Eastern Conference team he'd waive for is hometown Detroit all others are in the west. So those deals aren't happening.

Just bc GMBM didn't want to keep him doesn't mean we should have traded him, he's like 24 and is a legitimate top 6 forward, even with the injury concerns I don't see a reason to trade him when legit top 6 forwards are a team need, at his age, he'll be one of our better forwards for the duration of our "window" unless you're doing a tear down to the studs rebuild he should not be traded, maybe once we actually have a top 6 forward or two aside from him and Raks (in the next group of forwards) MAYBE trade him, but even then, he's better than Terry Steel Lundestrom Comtois etc other than Zegras, not saying we should build around him, just saying at his age it's not smart to trade him, Raks deal I've seen like 20 times over the past few days, yeah probably with MDZ, but like Scandella DID get a second lol, I'd agree with Shore, and I'd do all the other trades, they put us in a better spot than rn without Kase, though we all know GMBM wouldn't do any of these trades bc he can't evaluate players at all

First thing I said was this is not at all realistic, and that trade I stole from like 20 other ducks posts lol, and again with the not realistic thing, maybe Fowler would waive once he sees we're going into a rebuild lol

I mean he's a legit 2C who hasn't shown any signs of regression yet, he's having one of his better years, even analytically he's still solid, and most players start falling off analytically a year or two before they fall off points wise so... And the first can either keep going back till it's not lotto protected, or eventually just go to a second, idc lol

No thank you especially not a first and will be 30 with 4 more years . Buffalo still needs the picks to build depth in the system all pissed away by previous GM by bad drafting and even worse trades

He is too old for this core going forward. We will get a 2c in the off season. There are a few younger that will be available who are much younger and their current team is cash strapped. Could offer sheet them at 5 to 6 million for 5 years and it would cost less than you want. We are shedding age and bad contracts finally no need to take it on . We are still in Recovery mode from Tim Murray. Also Cozens will probably be here next year and Middlestadt should be developed properly.

I guess I just misjudged your position then, I was assuming you guys thought you were 1-2 pieces away (one of which being a legit 2C) from contending

There are much better options at 2C this summer . not making a trade for the sake of making a trade. Certainly not for a player already thirty with 4 years left on his contract after this season
