Quite realistic, but doesn't really move the needle much in terms of improving the Habs.

avs arent moving timmins, pretty easy no

Habs are dreaming if they think they are getting that from the Avs for tatar. Plus hes not even who the Avs apparently are focused on at all with these trade talks. Danault and Domi are the rumoured guys they have been spending the most time discussing

Our biggest hold in the next 2 years is at RD
i think this addressed that .

Next we need to parlay a Domi or Lehkonen into a #1 undisputed LW prospect and MTL's got depth at Center , RW , LD , and Goaltending for atleast 4-5 years .
Even after getting Timmons MTL still really needs another RD as Fleury will be ready by the time Petry's contracts up but Brook wont be ready until 2022 at the earliest that way he's playing.(think Subban early years without the heart or passion aka lots of turnovers and weak defensive play)

Losing Juulsen like that screwed us for about a 2 year window
because he's likely done due to head injuries MTL is in a position where we've got to choose to jeopardize their development to fill a need (think Tinordi , Beaulieu , Lecblanc , ext that were 100% our fault due to poor management )

If NJ got Foote and a first for Coleman, I think its fair to say this is possible. Im sure the avs dont want to get rid of Timmins but they can afford it with Graves Makar Byram and Girard. The first is late too. If the habs really need to add then they should do it but to think this is dreaming is wrong.

Lehkonen is more valuable to the habs than a 3rd rounder.

different scenarios bw teams at different cross roads of their cup windows

The 2 arent comparable and they dont transfer 1 for 1 between teams...just bc 1 team admitted they over paid doesnt mean anotehr team who dosent have to over pay will.
Sakic just said he isnt trading his top prospects in short term deals or rentals. Illl believe the GM of the team who has never once pandered to the media or got caught in lying to them.

Obviously, losing nearly two years of development is never good, but I don't believe all hope is lost for Juulsen. Anyway, I don't know why losing Juulsen is any more damaging than Scherbak, McCarron, Beaulieu, Leblanc... We're kind of used to having those #1s never play meaningfully in the NHL.

I agree that COL isn't all in like TB but Tatar is also much better than Coleman. Anyway, I also believe Sakic is telling the truth and this wont happen but value wise this isnt far off, thats why im saying this isnt dreaming. A good hockey trade is when both teams are cringing about what they have to let go. If sakic wants an impact player like Tatar, Domi or Kreider, one of his top prospect will probably have to go and be related to the needs of the other team in a close future.

Its just not the business sakic is in, he wont move top young prospects for guys wiht limited windows to imapct the team. Tatar they wont move a top prospect for, young guys with more control they can.
Guys like Tatar are nice, but 16 moths for a guy you wont keep after that bc he will be too costly and the wrong side of 30 when hes a UFA. Pass

it isnt but given we werent contenders from 2011-13 when Leblanc woulda been helpful , 2015-18 when Mccarrron , or Scherbak woulda been usefull.
Beaulieu atleast gave us a couple years of essentially the same level of play Kulak offers now which is better then the other busts .

MTL drafted big when they shoulda went small , small when they shoulda went big and with Beaulieu chose french over Klefboom or Murphy who went just after NB .

That's the easiest to assign blame to because its the GM who was promoted rapidly due to Gainey's abscence after his daughter died .
Gauthier ran the god awful draft dept from 2008 until he was fired in 2011 right into the ground and his scouts were so distrusted he grab Timmons out of the Player Development department to advise him at the 2012 NHL draft . from 2013-2015 Timmons learned a new job on the fly and all things considered did wel as 2/3 drafts all the teams were losers that picks at our position and 1/3 was a bad injury screwing us . 2016 he tried juggling his new job and letting his staff he left in place do the job but come Draft MB only trusted his opinion .

This lead Timmons to outsource to a close friend of his who recently re-stocked VAN Canucks organizational depth through the Draft in Eric Crawford who since arriving has found more talent in 7th rounders in Harvey-Pinard , Stapley and Primeau are all ahead of projections , leaders on their team. After Timmons acquired Crawfords Commitment he was promptly promoted to Assistant GM in charge of Scouting and draftng while Mellanby handles development assignments since 2014 .

between Timmons and Mellanby from 2014-2017 they went through department by department re-staffing he Canadiens .
by 2018 their biggest challenges became lack of contract space due to so many picks and no ECHL team leaving 41 contracts in laval between NHL deals and ones the AHL club signed themselves .

Needless to say those 2 are competing for MB job and the other will be a solid back up .
MB will replace Molsons who's dropped the ball repeatedly and has to leave if we're ever to become better
If we're lucky it happens soon because since he took over in 2011 its been mediocrity almost the whole way through
if not for Price carrying us to a ECF with Vanek-Eller-Bourque line then Fans would have already protested to the point Molsons sells again .

Coga likes to ignore everything after they're drafted .
while Sakic did say that Timmins injury issues are head related and cost him a season and counting thus far .
his value is way down especially after his AHL Debut he started his 3rd straight season sidelined out the gate with Injuries .

only Ikonen's been injured this much in MTL's system
no one's foolish enough to pretend the 2nd rounders values increased despite his impressive numbers when healthy
the most consistent part of both players is their ability to put themselves in positions to get injured .
(especially considering he's never skated a full season in any league at any level )
