If Price is moved, it will be for any teams top prospect. Thats the way it rolls.

Ridiculous. Price is essentially untradeable., and Grubauer is a better goalie.

He's 32, 10.5 million a year for the next 6 years and his save% is 0.910

I don't know why AVS would trade for him to begin with. They could do better if they were really interested in making a move.

tough to say how a Price deal would go down, Habs fans still think hes the best goalie in the world, the rest of us see a 32.5 year old signed for another 7 years @$10.5m currently with the 30th best SV% (goalies who have played 10+ games)

basically any Hab fan will hate it and the fans of the teams acquiring him on ACGM will think you overpaid....... its like every leafs trade on here "auto poo poo'd"

nor would it be for multiple 1st round picks

There is a better chance Price is exposed in the draft and they pay to get rid of him vs getting any sort of multiple high end assets

Here's why you're wrong ... just wrong: Price has started 52 games this season, more than any other goalie in the NHL. That's an incredible load in the modern NHL. Of the five goalie who have played 45 or more games, he is third in WINS, GAA and SV PCT. Only Vasilevskiy (TB) and Hellebuyck (WPG) have better stats and, it's safe to say, they have better teams in front of them. It is also reasonable to suggest that Price's numbers would be considerably better if he hadn't been forced to play back-to-back games on at least 5 occasions this season.

Behind a good team -- which the AVS are and the HABS are not -- Price would give you Patrick Roy-like performances for the next four years. After that ... yeah ... you might want to have someone in place to split the load.

no one cares what your stats are after 52 stars.
This isn't the NHL of 20 years ago. Most goalies split time, and statistically it shows that it works. Go look at recent cup winners, most of them have split time.

On top of it, the HABS are not that bad of a team. You act like they are LA or ANA. They are not.

He's not in the top 10 of GAA, save%, or shutouts. Nor would he be if he played less.
If what you wanted was an aging goalie with an average save % on an over inflated contract you could go with Lundqvist and not be stuck in it for the next 6 years.

i dont know what's confusing about this concept
IF MTL Ever decides to Retain it will ONLY be IF the return is worth it .

Price at 10.5 cap there's reason to complain
Price at 8.5m cap you'd have to be slow to think he's not worth that .

We sure as Shhappy wouldnt take a goalie back under any circumstances as the Only reason to pi$$ Price off enough to demand a trade despite his 100% full NMC would be if Primeau was ready to take Starter . (which he's not )

Anything less then Timmons and two firsts isnt worth even start a conversation about considering trading Price.
Beyond that i dont know how you convince a guy who has as little interest in playing in the USA as Panarin did about playing in Canada .

Price's stats would be better with a better team ... so Habs would want one or 2 A prospects plus a 1st rounder

Price has a negative GSAA this season and also in both of the last two seasons lol. He's still a pretty good goalie (he obviously had a terrible season a couple of years ago). But Price isn't that stud anymore. His underlying numbers aren't good enough. And you can't blame it all on the team because those underlying numbers pretty much cancel out the influence of the team. There could be a market for him though, if his contract wouldn't be that bad. Too much term and his AAV is way too high. Teams wouldn't pay that much to add Price. Goalies with similar or even better numbers would cost less and have better contracts. Gibson has a down year but any team would rather trade firsts and/or top prospects for him than for Price

Not sure what you base those hunches on: the NHL players poll has him by far and away the first choice for who players would most want to have in their net in a seventh game AND who they would least like to face. I think I'd take their word for it.
