There is a reason why TML fans dislike Barrie...he has sucked this year...so why are they now wanting a top D prospect and a 1st????????????

If the Leafs were to go 0 for 3 over there next 3 games, and I believe the Panthers would still have 2 games in hand, I could see the Leafs "transitioning" into a minor seller. I say minor because with Ceci out, the Leafs only have so many rentals to trade away without dipping into controlled players. If Barrie got the Leafs Hague and a 1st, I would say do that, though I don't think Vegas would make that sort of offer now that they've aquired Alec Martinez. Perhaps Spezza is willing to move to a legit contender. Aside from that, Leafs would be looking to make more meaningful hockey trades, and although I would like to see that happen, it generally does not occur until around the draft. Kapanen (and Dermott) to Colorado or Edmonton would make a ton of sense to those teams, but the return would have to be significant. Leafs could look to help some of the Western conference teams out that are awfully close to the cap in return for draft picks, but draft picks don't help the Leafs right now.
