It seems like these guys fit the system and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. I personally would love to see Fast on the bottom line but I assume the Rangers are going to ask too much from the Pens.

These aren't all possible. Let's assume the Pens want one trade like this. Which is most likely or most desirable?

Just basing this off of Rutherford's most recent comments. If they acquired a guy like Fast I'd love to see him play with Sid and Zucker. I think that line would keep the ice tilted. That said, Sully will never make Simon a healthy scratch. I think JR is just preparing to make a trade in case a guy like Simon, Horny, Kahun go down.

I just don't see why were are playing a 4th line forward in our top 6 and then trading for a 4th line forward. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Fast has a great plus/minus this year on a below average team. He also has playoff experience. Adding a guy like that is never a bad thing. He'd find his way into the lineup somehow.

The other two may be more "insurance" type players.

For those that may be wondering.

Simon this season has 7 goals, 15 assists, and is a - 6
Fast this season has 8 goals, 16 assists, and is a +14.

Fast is currently on a line with Panarin and Strome... But Simon is currently on a line with Zucker and Sid.

Fast generally doesn't get PP minutes. Simon has seen quite a bit of it this year with the constant injury bug.

Fast is a bit older and most likely, smarter.

Zucker-Sid-Fast

Put Simon on Bjugstad's left wing or scratch him.

I don't think JR or Sully are fans of Simon being in the bottom six or being scratched... But a deal like that could make the team better it seems.

Unless Fast is going to play in the top 6 giving up a 2nd for him is too much.
getting both Karlsson and Girgensons would be redundant. Girgensons would be my pick as he is more physical.

I don't disagree with any of this. If you get Fast you play him with Sid and Zucker. NYR will force an overpayment from the Pens.

Also, I said you get one of these guys. I just traded for all three so people could pick. The compensation the Pens give up plays a factor.
