Finally the sanity has returned. I just didn't know what to do with myself when Leafs fans stopped trading Bracco to the Wild for that 2 week period.

Okay, this isn’t a good one for a lot of reasons but a 1st, a young D-man and a 40 point forward for a 50 point forward is a big overpay... the fact Gallagher brings more to the table than just points makes it a bit closer but you are delusional if you think MTL rejects this

a young dman who is barely a top 4, a middle 6 winger whose 2 years younger then gally and a late 1st rd pick doesn;t compensate for a very very good winger who gives you 100% every night, wins his puck battles, plays like a pit bull and gives you 30 goals while making less then 4 mill. this trade is garbage. its not jsut the emotional perspective that habs fans have with gally, its the grit and leadership he brings. not a single player on the leafs plays as hard as him, and mtl would lose a very very good role model. if gally was made available today, all 30 would line up with really good packages to acquire him.try again bud.

I’m assuming that the first isn’t very late considering this guy traded Tyson Barrie to get that first and the way the leafs are playing it’ll probably be 15-20 at latest in a deep draft and yes Gallagher plays hard that’s why this is even close... Jason zucker got Addison, Galchenyuk and Pitt first... Johnsson is worth a alot more than pending UFA Galchenyuk, This First is worth a Good bit more than PIT first and Dermott is a decent piece, not as good as Addison but overall I’d say this package is almost equal to that one and Zucker has 3.5 years left, gally has 1.5. This is a very good offer, if you don’t like it reject it but to laugh at it shows your bias very strongly

“Never replace gally” Johnsson is a good fill in, he is a downgrade but not a ridiculous one, Dermott helps that back end and a mid first can easily bring a player better than gally... take of your fan blinders for a minute
