Tatar Real Talk

Explications
I believe there has been a lot of confusion of what Montreal has asked for or wants vs what retuan market price is for Tatar.

So its been said that montreal wants timmins and a 1st for him....teams can ask all the want doesnt mean thats the price that they will get.

So realistically if that is Montreals top value back, the middle ground trade that both teams come agreement is what????

Since MB is in denver again watching the Avs...hes clearly watching a player on the active roster, which comes down to Jost or Kamanev.

You are not getting Newhook or Byram so dont start with that nonsense

Which ever of them is the best. Tatar still has an extra year that you gotta pay for

Trevor Timmins was going to draft Tyson Jost but he didn’t know Sergachev would fall to #9 so they picked him instead. So Tyson Jost + 2020 1st could start the talks

He was there to watch the Avs and Lightning as well....and that was before kaut was called up, so someone on the active Avs roster has his attention

would you guys be happy with that return?
The other thought is Zadorov in a bigger deal bc Apparently MB loves him. But I think he really is there to watch Jost

I don't know his overall value but what would be involved for a certain RD prospect named Conor Timmins

I thought MTL hated Z after the Kotkaniemi throwdown. Otherwise Zadorov going to MTL makes a lot of sense. I'd rather do that deal in the offseason though once Z is an RFA and he's been a physical Dman for us. But that would also be if Tatar isn't traded by Monday. I don't think I'd mind Jost and a 1st for Tatar. I think after drafting Newhook, Jost is expendable.

Byram I get being off the market but I dont see why Newhook wouldn't be available.
Tatar would really help this club, particularly with Ranta missing time.
Maybe the 1st isn't even the move IE Newhook + Graves/Zadarov.

With Timmins looking to be the guy behind Makar for years to come, filling in for him when he's injured and being a reliable 2nd pairing RHD, I don't think there is a lot that could entice Sakic. An equal prospect on forward could possibly work? I could see Romanov and Timmins tearing it up. Maybe Poehling would be the forward equivalent in value?

I meant to add that the trade didn't need to involve Tatar I brought it up because, I read an Avs fan propose Timmins, Sampo Raanta, 2020 5th for either Domi or Drouin on Reddit would that be in the realm of possibility or would it have to involve someone like Poehling

With Coleman return, Jost 2020 1st isn’t enough, maybe a conditional 2021 2nd rd pick that become a 2021 1st round pick if Colorado win the Stanley cup in 2020 or 2021

I mean it's always fun to play with the idea of reuniting Drouin and Mack. We have Newhook + all those centres listed in the trade so we're not hurting for one. Especially since I think the Avs are trying to time Newhook's development with Kadri's contract.

The only player for me that would make me put almost all the prospects on the table (minus Byram) would be Gallagher. If we lost Timmins in a Gallagher trade, I could be happy with that. If we lost Timmins in a Gallagher+Tatar trade it wouldn't even hurt me. I just don't know exactly what that would look like. And I know MTL fans would hate to lose him, but that's why I'd love to have him and re-sign him.

Newhook isn’t getting moved for someone like Tartar, he is to good, I’m pretty sure Sakic has him set as the 2C possibly as soon as next year.

Graves, has played his way into a top 4 role, why would ANY team trade a top 4 dman that makes under a $1M?

Coleman return has nothing to do with the price of Tatar...lightning openly saying they over paid doesnt translate apples to apples for trade values.
Tampa paid more for Colemans extra year and his low cap hit....Tatars cap hit holds 0 value to the avs, the extra year is nice, but they could care less what his contracti s for 1 year with all their cap space

Man you really believe you know your stuff.

Your a pest, commenting on every deal that anyone makes with Colorado acting like you actually work for the team and have any idea what is actually going on. Yet you never have anything to say that furthers a real conversation about player worth or which trades would actually be beneficial to any team. You have no clue on the value of any player in the NHL from what I have seen.

Sakic should have no problem dealing Newhook or Timmins if he actually wants to compete for a cup now while his window is wide open. Byram would be tougher to get for sure but should in no way be considered untouchable from a team in the win now position of Colorado.

newhook is having a better season than cole caufield but hey sure Sakic would have no issues trading Newhook yet the montreal fan base have been acted like caufield is one of the top prosepcts in the entire NHL.

If you think Newhook is jsut a throw away currency in a trade, then you think caufield is as well

Graves is looking solid. He has pretty much confirmed that Z is on his way out after the playoffs or possibly at this TDL.

Zadorov would be a good "welcome to North America" Russian Komrad mentor to Romanov. I just think there is bad blood between Z and the Canadiens since KK was injured in that wonky yet unpenalized hit. That being said, these men are millionaires and can be mature adults about it if he is traded there.

I mean his contract next year really does matter, you guys gotta resign Z, Graves, Nichushkin, Burakovsky, Girard, etc. Bit of a cap crunch there with mostly everyone expecting raises. I think the avs would be better off not going for someone with term. Everyone who has a year someone is gonna throw the "JASON ZUCKER GOT THIS" and its gonna be more dumb comparisons. Kreider makes the most sense or if you're looking cheap go for Kovalchuk or someone like that. Anyone who has term someone is gonna tell you Newhook and Byram or bust and its not worth the dumb arguments filling up your notis
