Carolina Trade idea

Créé par: Xmarshldillon

Description
The market seems rather steep this deadline so I believe Lehner alone can get a first, but with Gustafsson playing better in 2020 and the Hawks taking back Reimer I believe there is a way a package deal can be made here.

The prospect doesn't have to be Suzuki but I believe something else has to come to Chicago, whether that is another pick or a prospect.

Adding TVR is just so Carolina isnt carrying 8 dmen when Hamilton comes back if they acquire a Dman.

The Mitchell signing I believe will happen after his NCAA season in April.

That's still a no from Carolina. In terms of analytics, Reimer has been as good as if not better than Lehner, and the base stats aren't too far apart. Why would Carolina give ALL OF THAT for a negligible upgrade? People don't realise how good Reimer has been. As for gus.... meh. There are options, but if it's a reasonable price I don't mind trading for him, but I think Hawks fans and canes haves have a very different feel for a fair price

Well then swap reimer for Mrazek. I just think Lehner would be a good 1A in Carolina, also I dont trust Reimer come playoff time.

If CAR fans were being honest with themselves....they wouldn't either. ALL of them we're 100% positive Mrazek was the guy...until he wasn't. Even with Douglas Ham out...CAR is still 2nd best in the league in shots allowed. Reimer's definitely been the better of the (2) goalies, but they have a good defense. OR CAR needs to go find a 2nd Hamilton...which isn't happening.

You consistently use the same talking point that Carolina doesn’t “need” a goaltender. Whether this true or not, it has already been reported they are interested in Lehner whether you like it or not. They are also shopping for D and a good amount of cheap defensemen have already been moved. This proposal makes sense based off all the reports even if it doesn’t fit what you like.

Just to play devils advocate here. While I believe Lehner is the single best acquisition CAR could make... Where are you seeing this reportedly? Just curcious.

Typo, I was referencing how if they acquire a dman and Hamilton comes back they would have 8 Dmen on the roster.

The Canes haven't seen a truly good goaltender since Ward's first 2 years in the league. Anyone that comes in and does a good job for a short period is seen as a great goalie until they aren't.
The league knows how good Lehner is and every front office that is questioning their goaltending is looking into acquiring him. The Canes are one of those teams.

I agree, but I'll also admit...if you were a GM on the fence yesterday....his game last night wasn't inspiring. Not all those goals were on him, but if I'm being honest….I could assign 3 of them to him.

Agree on that. his last 2-3 games haven;t been as stellar as pretty much every game before that this year.
It is possible the contract and deadline situation is beginning to get to him at this time of the year. I wish the Hawks would pony up and sign him to a long term deal. I think that the best option organizationally moving forward. Crow only has 2-3 years left and hasn't been what he was before all the concussions, and they don't have any true A or B+ prospects in the system at goalie.

I would be perfectly fine with extending him. It's just that...his play last night wasn't exactly inspiring to extend him for what he wants either! It's a catch 22. AND while i could 100% see what you're saying being true with regards to this affecting his play...that in itself ALSO isn't exactly inspiring either. Pressure is on for either an extension or trade...he lets up 6.

It was one game. If it continues longer I would definitely agree with you.
He's stood on his head all year. Even the two before that he didn't play bad per se but he just wasn't shutting everything down like he has the rest of the year.
