It's nice to see, and know, that Leaf fans cheer at even the smallest of victories, especially the ones off the ice and that really mean nothing. Malgin is more of a NHL player that Marchment may have ever become, but all he really is is a fast skater with no clear direction. He's not a true bottom-6 grinder and he doesn't have the hands or shot to be a consistent top-6 either. At this point, it just seems like the Leafs need warm bodies, between all their injuries and what not. I am impressed though that Dale Tallon was willing to deal with Toronto, regardless of the assets involved. If nothing else, this tells me that Florida truly believe Malgin will never be impactful at the NHL level. Considering he will require waivers to be shipped to the AHL, here is to hoping he can do something meaningful on the ice.
