Dallas is pretty stacked on D and they do need scoring. Idk might work? I'm not sure the value is there though.

Leafs fans need to stop relying on big moves to save the day...damnit how can you ever build a team if you're always shifting players aay and trying to make room for big name free agents who continue to absorb a large portion of your salary

Meh. Personally I’m not a fan of it. Klingberg is more of an offensive defenseman, isn’t he? Do the Leafs really need more of that? I feel like the team is too one dimensional. The Globetrotters-eqsue style of play with the speed, skills, finesse, and those nice sounding words obviously aren’t going to work every night. When those aspects of the game fails, the Leafs don’t have much else to rely on.

So your trading offense for offense? Dubus didn't screw this team with his supposedly overpayment of Top notch RFAs who he signed all long-term and not to short little 3 year deals to kick the cap can down the road. Klingberg is awesome but is yet again another offensive minded RHD which is not what the Leafs need

It was not one person who screwed the team up; just because Babcock was fired it doesn't mean you need to find another person to blame. A team's culture does not fall on one person, it needs to be a group effort; and group efforts don't start with a single person - listen to Crosby's interview on Spittin Chicklets when he talks about how everyone needs to do theri share to make it work when being asked about his 8.7 mil salary; there is too much entitlement in a market that really has not shown any signs of success (besides three straight playoff entrances that resulted in 1st round exits) for the amount they are demanding.

no i'm trading offense for a offensive minded Dman and some salary cap relief and yes Dubas did screw this team up when he set the bar at 11m and had 3 very good players to pay with a fixed salary cap you can't pay 4 forwards 40.4M on a 81.5M cap and he lost 2 perfectly fine backup goalies because he thought a AHL goalie could jump in

Nylander is on a fantastic contract and not worth moving unless they are able to get a far better return. I like klingberg a lot but hes not the type of player they need. I wouldnt want him paired with rielly at all. Unless they are getting a significant upgrade, trading nylander makes their offense a whole lot weaker and their defense not a whole lot better.

Cool so you've gained a little cap space for 2 years and now Klingberg is up for an extension? Doughty got 11, Karlsson got 11.5, Pietrangelo is sure to get a minimum of 9 but probably 11 if he goes shopping. Klingberg now gets 12 chase the cap went up where's all this cap space?

i have been blaming Dubas since he signed JT in a FIXED SALARY CAP AREA you HAVE to be smart with your signings maybe i should also be blaming Shanny for hiring a inexperinced GM at the worst possible time WONDER how LOU would have handled it so yes i can blame Dubas but maybe i should blame Shanny too

I don't think I would want the position of GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs tbh with you...but certainly paying attention to what other successful teams now and from former eras is at least one thing the leafs could consider

in 2 years the cap can go up this gives the team time to draft and develop there d and if you can't get a deal done with Klingberg he has trade value
