Explications
Frank Seravalli is saying Avs and Bs are the front runners for Kreider, and Rangers are still looking for that Hayes return, a 1st and Brendan Lemieux

at the time of the trade Brendan Lemieux has 12 points in 55 career NHL games, 23 year old Winger who plays a gritty game, bottom 6 role

As a comparable, Avs have Vlad Kamanev....12 points in 55 career games, 23 years old, C/LW who plays a defensive oriented game, bottom 6 role

if the hayes deal is the target, would you be happy with this comparoable bc on paper you cant get closer to the same deal

the lemieux comparable would be AJ Greer. Same type of player

I also think Hayes > Kreider.

If it was AJ Greer, taht deal would have been done yesterday.
Just looking more at the NHL roster and on paper Kam and lemieux have identical stats and age

This is basically the Av's equivalent of the deal the Jets pulled off last year to get Hayes. There was also a conditional 4th if the Jets won the Cup (weird draft pick to get from a Cup winner lol).

If the Avs offer this the Rangers should accept. Could see Sakic & Gorton haggling more until the deadline but this trade should do it

It's definitely a fair comparable for a trade. As an Avs fan, do the injuries make you want to acquire someone like Kreider? Even for when Mikko comes back, I think the lineup looks really good with him in it.

That's how I felt at the end of the season last year with Hayes. But I also feel the Avs are much better contenders than the 18/19 Jets so Sakic probably feels it's worth taking a swing

it might just be the market price...i wouldnt like it without an extention in place either but if a comparable is what htey are asking for, I guess thats what the Avs have to match

different scenario, but thanks for playing
when the GM of the lightning came out and said yes he paid a high price bc he felt like he owed it to do whatever he can to give the current crop of players the best chance of winning now.

But hey context and the complete story frames thing different huh instead of looking at things in a vacuum

Regardless of the injuries, they could have used an extra fwd to plug into their middle 6, preferably the 2nd line. I dont think the injuries really changes that.
Calvert and Kadri arent out super long term so they can get by for the next couple weeks

would be a top line talent on the sabres.

But hey at least try to comprehend the point....Lightning admitted they over paid to try to win now, keep him away form boston, and his extra year at 1.8m will help th em fill out the roster bc they will have to cut cap next season and cant replace a top 9 player at 1.8m in UFA, so they sacrificed a heavy price at one more kick at the can with this gorup

follow along

I think a lot of fans are going to be let down this deadline when they don’t get the return for their rentals that they expected. From a fans POV the market has blown up, and that’s because of the Pitt and Tampa deals, but both of those moves were for players with term left. Makes a difference when discussing a trade. really no rental player has been “overpaid” for imo. The TT trade was about on par to what ppl expected for him. Maybe a slight overpay from the Nucks

are you pouting that you got your low hanging fruit stance torn apart with logic and wiht back ground information, you know from actual nhl gms who gave the reason why they paid the heavy price

come back when you can actually provide substance to your posts

I think the Rangers would rather have a NHL ready body, with potential, over a first. so, Player + 2nd instead of Prospect + 1st. A big reason why Jost's name keeps coming up.

people are trying to use the coleman trade as a measuring stick ignore all the context int eh world why the lightning, even admiting so, did that deal and paid that price.

Just bc one team was in a unique situation to pay a certain price doesnt mean other teams are going to look at that price and say oh man now we have to pay more than that? Doesnt work that way.
ngikas a aimé ceci.

Yea lmao. Wait are you a fan of Kreider? Like the billion times proposed offer of Tyson Jost and a 1st?
