At the very least, I think it makes Sakic think. I still wouldn't do it just based off of how valuable players like Byram are, but this is one of the better Byram trades I've seen.

But the real question is: Why are The Rangers trading for Byram with the defenseman and prospects they currently have? Giving up 4 assets for a player they don't need. I don't know if anyone would take trade.

Not a bad deal but Rangers don’t really need D help. Fox as of now is the best dman on the Rangers. Nils and Miller project to be 2nd pair maybe 1st, as well as other solid D prospects. Forwards are the real need.
