Explain why NJ bites on an often injured bottom 6 F for Severson
They wouldn't. Severson is 1st in TOI for NJ this season. They'd never pull the trigger on this deal.

funny how Kase's value has dropped this much. If I did this trade 3 months ago Ducks fans would have had me in the lineup for the psych ward.
His value has only dropped to non-ANA fans who judge value based on his goals and assist totals. The kid is absolutely dynamic and would be a great addition to any teams 2nd line.

That's fair, his value hasn't dropped that much, he was just overvalued that much. Kase has never played a full season and everything suggests he's a third line RW that can play up the line up to cover for injury if he happens to not be injured himself which the teach record suggests he will be injured
He's a 2nd line winger and drives the play better than most, but he's just injury-prone. I don't think it's fair to value Kase (or anyone for that matter) based on 1 season. He's having a down year, but he's not missed that many games this season. Last year was his worst in terms of injury, but he still posted 11 goals in 30 games. ANA fans know that on a team that isn't as offensively stinted as this one, he'd be doing much better. You're going to have to assume he'll miss at least some games, but for the 60 or so games he is in he'll be a difference maker.

kase is scraps at this point
Not really, but then neither is Severson. I'd move him for a simlar-aged, low cost, 3rd pairing, PP specialist.
