Skjei is a solid Defenseman, especially at his AAV. But given the Defensive depth emerging around him, it is making him the odd man out amongst Ranger fans.

DeAngelo is playing at a high level. Not only is he due for a raise, but he has played on the Left side back during his days with Sarnia. We could move him to the other side, with Trouba and Fox manning the Top 2 Righty spots. We have K'Andre Miller (Left) and both Nils Lundkvist and maybe Joey Keane (both Right) coming up soon. With Ryan Lindgren already playing well on the bottom pair, with Libor Hajek and Yegor Rykov potentially being other options.

While not all those guys will be factors, it is a tremendous amount to work with. Moving Skjei helps alleviate the logjam.

I like the idea, although Kuokkanen is a no, maybe someone like Lorentz would make Carolina consider it, but Kuokkanen is a top 3 prospect in the Canes organisation. For an outcast, not worth moving
