I don’t think Dumba is what the Leafs need. Sign Tanev for free.

I doubt Tanev hits the market. But that trade isnt even close to getting Dumba either. Add a 1st round pick to that at least, come on.

Obviously its a possibility. But I just cant see them moving him over Stecher. He does so much more for the team on and off the ice. Good defensive defensman with a solid transition game. Yeah he was getting injured alot the last few years when we hit rock bottom but if you look at his injuries theyre almost entirely shot blocks and lingering issues from Getzlaf falling on Tanevs ankle. Guy was eating clappers constantly cause we never had the puck.

Never got injured back in the Sedin era. The guys called him Gumby for the way he could take hits and bounce back up. Hes played every game this year now that we dont suck again. He also got custom shot blocking equipment made which cant hurt.

Tanev is close with the young guys in the room. He cooks dinners for them at his place and just genuinely helps them with learning the NHL life. Not to mention the way he compliments Hughes on the ice. Gives Quinn the freedom to play his best and is so good at cleaning up the few mistakes he makes so they dont end up in the net.

Stecher just doesnt bring as much value to the team in my eyes. But its funny cause for some reason I feel like people on here believe Stecher is the more valueable of the two. Even despite the age difference.
