Probably add a bit more to the ANA trade to cover the age difference between Nino and Kase and also add slightly in the ARZ trade, but you'd have to add substantially in the MIN trade, Brodin is one of the best LHD in the league

What?
Where did that assessment suddenly come from?

He's good... a #3 guy on most teams though. He's the main trade target on this website right now but that shouldn't inflate his value. He costs about the same as Faulk did.

He is and has been one of the best shut down guys for years... That's all over been seeing is people saying that on here lol, and everyone seems to be offering substantially more (rightfully so imo)... And Faulk is terribly overrated, CAR absolutely fleeceed them, but that's not the point of this post lol

I'm willing to add more to the deal. Something along the lines of Wallmark or a 2nd or a B prospect.... but I don't see Brodin as "one of the best defensemen in the league"

One of the best is a stretch, and I said LHD, depends on what your definition of one of the best is, I'd put him in the same tier as a guy like Lindholm in ANA tho

These might be fantasy ratings and aren't entirely useful in judging how good a defenseman is, but Brodin doesn't appear on this top 50 list.

I would say he is a top 50 defenseman in the league, but in the late range of it. Kinda that Esa Lindell / Orlov territory. Valuable, yes, but nothing to spend a mini fortune on. This is essentially the same deal that NYR got for Trouba. Fleury this year is similar to what Pionk was last year. Basing it off this deal (yes i know there's other circumstances here)... and the Faulk deal, I find it hard to see much more going back to MIN (again, I'd add similar to what i mentioned in the previous post)

He's a DFD, he'll never find his name on a fantasy list (as you said) but your two comparable made me laugh for a second... Orlov has had an almost Norris level year defensively, and Lindell... Meh, decent number 4 guy, also both Trouba and Faulk are overrated and bad comps for a Brodin trade as they are both more offensively minded d men

Alright then, I'll go closer to home in saying Edler is the right comparable. (Edler made the fantasy list for a good bit last year and all of this year). If Vancouver was unable to sign Edler last year and was offered this trade, As a canucks fan I'd take it.

It's always hard to evaluate defensemen. I don't see anyone throwing a king's ransom at Brodin, but neither will the wild give him off for nothing. Hard to find that sweet spot. Time will tell.
