the sharks are a pretty stubborn franchise...

but there's stubborn and there's stupid. Adding at this point is stupid.

No its not? They have a pretty solid foundation and there is no way to rebuild. Adding a forward and changing the goalies for next year is the smartest plan they have. 100 doug does that this offseason

Personally I don’t see this roster and these small moves helping anything. There needs to be major moves and draft capital acquired and youth flushed into the team. A change is needed. I’d like either huge changes made to compete or HUGE changes to rebuild (I like the latter)

Disagree wholeheartedly. Missed the playoffs in 2015, quick retool in the summer and went to the finals the next year. Sharks have a solid core still and while there are some glaring contracts, those pieces are still great players. The core is solid. “HUGE” changes would be a drastic mistake. We need to fix the goalie situation add a top six forward and maybe a bottom sixer.

You need to understand a rebuild is impossible with the current contracts. They are not easily moved and frankly I don’t think they need to be moved yet. A rebuild is a knee-jerk reaction to a bad year. Not smart at all.

I like the move Papi but I think Hamaliuk isn’t enough to land Killorn. It might require Kniazev or Spiridonov as well.

Fair enough, I just think we can get him for a nice price with his NTC and TB's cap crunch

I think so too but I would also think TB is more privy to moving Gourde or Johnson. Two contracts I would have to pass hard on. Killorn is on pace for a career year.

True, id also be interested in Johnson and I think they may need to move both

I’d be interested in Johnson if the price is substantially lower and maybe with retained salary or a 2nd round draft pick included.

nice idea but on a side note Simek won't be getting 2mil, he's been pretty bad as of late. My guess is he goes the Heed route for 950k.

Um no. Simek is twice the defenseman that Heed is. Heed has been a healthy scratch most of his Sharks career. Simek deserves a minimum of 2mil. 3 years at 2mil is spot on for Lord Simek

Doesn’t change the fact that this roster I look at and don’t go “this is it”, goaltending is still up in the air idk why goodrow is playing bottom line, our bottom 6 still is a skeleton. Jumbo won’t be third line next year he will be retired or 4th line he won’t do well with 3C next year I can assume. It’s a lot of ifs using the same look to the team we have this year

Um yes. You haven't been watching Shark games since his return then... or at least not paying attention to his play. He's been putrid since coming back from injury (by the eye time and according to his advanced stats). The lord simek status is now nonexistent (similarly to how sharks fans used to call stalock god but that quickly died out)

I expect a 1yr or 2yr deal for Simek for 1mil aav.
