I think it's premature to decide whether or not it's worth to move on from Lundqvist right now, just because there could be a team that makes an offer for Georgiev that is too good to pass up at the draft. Unlikely, but possible. Buying out Lundqvist would be even worse than simply leaving him on the roster, for NYR would likely be looking to spend not this offseason, but next, and a buyout would inhibit their ability to spend with the most flexibility. This decision should be made at the draft, not in February.
And we can agree to disagree on re-signing Kreider. I think given that he'll command AT LEAST 6 years at a rate of AT LEAST 6.5 million AAV with restrictive trading rights, and the fact that NYR are still in the rebuilding stage, failing to trade Kreider for good assets would be missing out on a good opportunity to continue with the rebuild properly. Having Kreider at 35 at what I think would be 7 million per year would come at the expense of losing younger talent (examples could include Buchnevich and Chytil).
If you are keeping Deangelo, good idea to move Sjkei. Nils will need a year in the A before the NHL.
