LOL

In terms of value:
Kerfoot >> Tanev
Dermott = Gaudette

Both teams get what they need. Toronto a top 4 d-man and Vancouver a top 6 winger. Leafs also need centre depth and get that, Canucks also need higher end defensive depth. Keep in mind that Vancouver is getting 2 guys with more team control and Toronto is getting a pending UFA who could walk in a few months. Canucks already have 2 better RHD than Tanev so he won't be re-signed anyways.

In terms of value and team needs, it's a walk in the park for Vancouver.

Vancouver says no thank you. Dermott is as good as he will ever be. At best a #5 Dman. Van will have a couple guys on the farm next year that will surpass Dermotts skill. Kerfoot was a mistake that Dooby made....at 3.5M, he has zero value. Pass.
Additionally, latest odds have Vancouver at 90% to make the playoffs.....Tor at only 60%. Vancouver is not giving up Tanev unless it is a HUGE over pay. Dermott for Stetcher would be an even one for one trade.

Both Vancouver players have more points than both Toronto players. And Kerfoot has the advantage of playing with Tavares and he still sucks. Gaudette outscore him and he centre his own line.

Soooo pass.

If Kyle starts a phone call to any GM in the League with the words KERFOOT....the other GMs hang up. 3.5M for what he brings....yikes. Colorado was over the moon to package him with Barrie. Almost as bad as 6M for Loui. At least Loui is a decent defender and penalty killer.

You would know. Haven't made the playoffs in half a decade.

& I guess you better check the standings before you make such ignorant comments like that. Toronto is currently IN A PLAYOFF SPOT. & Vancouver is only 3pts away from being outta the playoffs.. wouldn't get too cocky yet.

Stay classy kid.

Only 60% chance TO stays in a playoff spot....Vcr 90%

You really want to go there.....you have not seen the second round in 15 yrs!! GL finding 5 quality D men next year for only 10M of cap space.

It would be nice for you to see the Leafs in the Stanley Cup final IN COLOUR!!!

Are you serious? Travis Dermott alone would be an overpayment! So I agree the phone gets slammed on this offer from Leaf's perspective. I'm not against a trade involving Dermott but he's a young defender growing into a top 4 defender, no team trades that away for spare parts and a bad contract.

I like the Nucks but slow down their whippersnapper... If the Nucks were in the east they wouldn't even sniff at a wild card spot.

Dermott will never be more than a #5 D amn. He will probably back with the Marlies next year. You REALLY over estimate what Dermott is. He is not physical and has no offensive upside. The only thing he has going for him is currently low cap hit.

they don't need center depth, and IF they did, trading away a center would make no sense lol Kerfoot > Gaudet on the ice, and Kerfoot is locked up where as Gaudet is up this year lol

well to start, Dermott just turned 23 so he still has development time

his offense hasn't developed fully yet, but considering his age, and the fact he hasn't played a full season yet its still hard to judge

as for not physical, hes averaging over a hit and a half a game, which is decent for young smallish D man who is on a lower pair

Don't need centre depth? If Matthews or Tavares get hurt their 2C is Spezza. Nylander or Kerfoot are not good enough centres and the Marlies don't have any high end talent. So how don't they need centre depth?

You clearly have your own opinion and good on you. I won't waste time arguing that but, it is wise to remember that not everyone shares your opinion and no matter what you believe or how hard you belive it, it's not going to change theirs. So that being said, if that's the way you see it, you are not alone but you are not a majority either. Fact is, those in the know value Dermott way more then you do! Get over it!

Kerfoot is a fine 2/3C, and based on his play this year Nylander could fill in as a 2C, but even IF they needed the depth, losing AK for Gaudette would make it worse lol

you are an example of a anti leaf bias, go actually look at the objective numbers

Not to mention Brooks will do just fine in the 3 hole next year, and might even be a Black Ace in the postseason this year.

Lol. I'm actually a Leafs fan there bud. And if you watch, Kerfoot hasn't been a good 3C this year. That's why he got moved to the wing. And they tried Nylander at centre last season and the one before.. he's never worked out there because he's not good in his own end. He's much better suited on the wing where he can use his speed better.

It's called the eye test. Something your "objective numbers" can't measure. You should try it sometime.
