Not even close to similar players. Tatar is twice the player.

I’ll take Zucker everyday over Tatar

I'm glad Zucker (as a player) is gone from the Wild. He is a very good human being. MN should have traded him as a RFA a couple years ago. He'll either boom or bust in Pit.

Wild win the trade, Zucker was an expensive spare part they got a 1st, Addison, and whatever Chucky is (player or return from flipping him).

Well, I think the Penguins overpayed for Zucker. For one, he’s not on a great contract and we had to pay a good and our 2020 1st leaving the Pens with 1 1st in 5 years.

I also am unsure how good the Pens will be for much longer honestly, his contract expires in 4 years around the time when majority of the team does as well.

I’m unsure what to think if it’s best if in the long run.

WOOHOO!!! 2020 CUP CHAMPS = Pittsburgh Penguins

Good addition and Zucker has a good contract for the next 3-4 years!

All these pens fans were willing to give up a 1st and a prospect just to move jack Johnson, but not willing to give that up to acquire a 20+ goal scoring top 6 winger. Goes to show how stupid some of them are.

Believe it or not, this is a fair deal. Jason Zucker is criminally underrated and will be fantastic in PIT. I know Addison is seen as being very good, but him and a 1st is basically the going rate for a player of Zucker's calibre.

Honestly thought the Wild were going to get much less (thanks in part to the fenton era). Good for them for getting fair value.

Going rate for a player of Zucker's calibre with a very manageable contract with term .

Honestly, fair trade for both sides.

Chucky is probably similar to what Brassard was last year for the Panthers. If you ask me, though, there's a less than 50% chance he's moved again before the deadline. I know he's a UFA after the year but Minnesota isn't out of it at all.

I have no clue where Chucky will play with MN: center, wing, 1-4th lines, or pressbox. He really could end up anywhere in the lineup (or gone) by the TDL. I just hope MN puts him on the PP.

Penguins get their guy for RIGHT NOW and with manageable term going forward. Addison will be good but not for a few years. Bye Bye Gally and his 4.9 cap. Zucker on a line with Crosby!!! It will be a late first round pick so no big deal. Penguins can trade away players and get back into the first round and early if they want to. Welcome to the Burgh Jason Zucker!

Sure it will be a late first, but have you seen how stacked this draft is? Widely regarded as challenger to 2015 or 2003 for the best draft of all time. That late first could snag a potentially elite player. Addison will be a top 4 D, and I get that all those are futures, but after some key contracts are up for the Penguins, they have no futures or prospects to rely on. This trade could've been done with Galchenyuk, Addison and a 4th, but Jim Rutherford went senile again.

Fair deal. Zucker is a great fit and an underrated player. Galch is just a wasted career by this point, picks and prospects mean nothing when you try to squeeze a cup or 4 out of your two megastars last few peak years.

Maybe I am on wrong side of this statement but I think Zucker has more value than this.

I think Wild should have got more for him.

Please go ahead @tansor and @MNBassman tell me I'm wrong

My initial reaction was that the Wild got a steal, but the more I think about it the more I think this could turn out to be a steal for Pittsburgh. Zucker seems like such a perfect fit next to Crosby and Zucker has proven he can score next to a playmaker (this year with Zuccarello and 3 years ago with Granlund). I would not be surprised to see Zucker end the season with close to 40 goals, and he still has 3 years after this year...

So you agree this might at least be little light to Minnesota??

Well that's great for Pittsburgh. I think Minnesota could have gotten more for Zucker especially if you think about that pick being late in the draft.

I wouldn't say that light, I think it's pretty fair at least at this point in time. Both teams got what they wanted.

Yeah possibly, Addison is a good prospect though, and we have the perfect mentor for him with Spurgeon. I think he could be a good 2nd pairing PP specialist someday. Guess it also depends on who we draft with the pick, the draft is rumored to be strong this year but we'll see.

I personally think the Wild robbed the Penguins, but I have a much lower opinion of Zucker (as a player) than most Wild fans. I don’t see him sticking on Crosby’s line as I think he will drive Crosby nuts with his inaccurate passing and poor pass-catching skills. I also think he has the most overrated speed ever...he does have great speed, but he rarely accomplishes anything with it. He will surprise me once in a while with a crafty play, but most of the time he just isn’t a smart player - no glaring weaknesses, but just a whole bunch of small mistakes every game; going off sides, not picking up the right guy back checking, missing the tape on a 10 foot pass, throwing a 10 foot pass 100 miles an hour, having a pass bounce off his stick, missing the net high and wide making a perfect breakout pass for the other team, getting lost in the defensive zone, etc., etc., etc. I sincerely would have taken just the 1st rounder for him if that was the best offer on the table.
I don’t believe him producing more points playing with Crosby has anything to do with his trade value. Heck, I would score a couple goals a year playing on Crosby’s line and I’m 51 years old and 20 pounds overweight!
Anyway...as a player, you can have him! As a person, there isn’t a player in the league I would trade him for!!

Fair deal. Minnesota gets a 1st & Addison, while PIT gets Zucker and cap space, along with getting rid of Galchenyuk in their locker room.

I've thought about this trade for a few days now and keep coming back to how late the pick will be. Couple that with the good contract Zucker is under for count it... three years and I feel Guerin could/should have gotten at least another prospect or pick as well.
