Let's be honest here Ducks need pretty much everything........I get Manson is the Ducks most valuable trade chip other than Rackell, there is no re-tool scenerio where the Ducks actually improve or begin to compete with in a season or 2. Sell Manson and Rackell for prospects and picks, sign a Barrie in the offseason if you really want to upgrade the RHD position, Ducks have a strong defensive game but get little to know offensive production from the back end

Lets be real, the Ducks have enough mid six wingers, and Bracco would be blocked the same way he is in TOR

We need top 6 forwards and RD, we arent adding either here but losing one

We're set at LD goalie and bottom nine forwards

You saying we need everything shows your lack of knowledge on the ducks

If Manson gets moved its for a better return than this that actually fills needs we have

I never said the return was enough, but really the Ducks do not have a bunch of Middle Forwards - Ritchie, Kase, Shore, Deslauriers are all bottom 6 and most have 4th line production.

Max Jones is middle 6 with top 6 potential

Rackell and Silfverberg are top 6

Rowney - bottom
Terry - bottom
Grant - bottom

To be real Ducks have a bunch of Bottom 6 F and 80% of them are 4 the liners

They have 2 wingers with middle 6 potential

Kapenen is a massive upgrade in the Ducks Forward group

Ok so we agree the return isn't enough

I agree on Shore, Deslauries and Ritchie

I would say Jones profiles as a Mid six, I don't see him becoming a top six as much as I would love that

Kase is a mid six at worst, he had a pretty unlucky start to the year but has turned it around as of late and has top 6 potential, 9 points in his last 13

Rakell is top 6 for sure, but I'd argue Silf is a great mid six winger I dont see him on a good offensive teams top six, great second line winger/amazing 3rd liner

Rowney and Grant probably get moved at the deadline

Terry still has mid six potential imo but I'll say its looking more likely at bottom 6

Guys like Comtois and Sprong have top 6 upside, Comtois more likely but if Sprong can shore up his defensive game he is an elite offensive talent waiting to bloom

So in my eyes Kase, Comtois, Jones, Silf are our mid six wingers going forward, with potential for Sprong/Terry/Ritchie being a mid six winger as well

Zegras-Steel-Lundestrom our going to be our top 3 centres so theres even potential for Henrique to join that mid six winger convo, our Henrique stays at C and Lundestrom moves to a mid six wing role

Guys further away like Tracey and BOG could play into the mid six as well

I would love to add Kapanen but not for Manson which as said we agree on if it came off like I don't want Kap that isnt the case, just not for Manson unless we add a young impactful RD some other way but it would be Kap + (Not Bracco) in my mind

Edit: sorry for the long response ahah

The Kase case is a little saddening from a Duck Fans perspective, he can't stay healthy his production is meh he is 25 going on 26 we know what he is and that's an injury prone RW who could play a third line RW role but really is just a depth player.

Ducks are in a tough spot cause they need there most valuable trade chips (Manson, Rackell) but neither of them would get you a young RHD and a top 6 F on their own, ducks are in no position to trade out 1st and 2nd rounders to add to a Manson or Rackell to aquire their needs.

I will say this - if TO comes calling and it's Kapenen and Barrie for Manson the ducks should listen. That's a Top 4 Dman (you'd want to sign him and at the high end it would be 7 million x 8, more likely 6-7 x 5 years) Kap would slide up on the RW of the 1st or 2nd line, use that nice Top 10 draft pick the draft the young RHD your pining for, send Kase to Buffalo for Colin Miller and you have a real nice D core and the beginnings of a forward group, flip Getz at 2021 TDL with 50% retention and you'll get another 1st in 2021

Kase has had a rough start to his career but the potential is still there, minor but he just turned 24 in November stlll not great though. Worst case he's a third liner

I think both of them could get one of those on their own if they pursue quality over quantity, even in a 1 for 1

I would stay away from Barrie in a trade if we want him just sign him in the offseason, no need to make him take up value in a trade when you guys probably can't sign him anyways

I wouldnt go near Kase for Miller, I'm not a fan of his, and he can't consistently crack the line up in BUF (I know they have depth on the right side)

Kap would be a great piece to add, but I would want a good add on top of him in a trade for Manson
