Description
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

YES, I KNOW I HAVE - 25 ROSTER PLAYER - BUT - isn't there always at least 2-4 Pens players hurt??

*** The Pens need as much depth as they can possibly get w/ this injury prone team!!!

- If 59 could come back by 2nd Rd - This team would be scary.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

TRADES - "Breakdowns"

DALLAS Trade:
Galchenyuk FOR Janmark w/ DAL sending a 4th Rdr for PIT retaining $$
- I think we can all agree that Sully hates Chucky & he isn't fitting here.
- I always liked Janmark's game & his work rate, would fit in perfect w/ Pens + his style could be a nice fit w/ Geno.

ANAHEIM Trade:
Addison, A. Johnson, 20'- 1st Rdr, & a Conditional 2nd or 3rd FOR Rakell & Stolarz
- I looked at B. Schenn trade for a Rakell trade comparison - Schenn got 2-1st Rdr's and a bad cap hit guy back....
So IMO, A very good future Top 4 RHD Prospect, 1st Rdr, & a 2nd or 3rd Rdr is a much better deal than what Schenn got back.
* Also added A. Johnson for Stolarz too.
- IMO, Rakell is EXACTLY what the Pens need - A top line guy, that can also play that Left wall spot (Kessel) on PP - (Kill 2 birds with 1 stone)

NJD Trade:
DeSmith for Greene - Strait Up
- Greene is purely a rental for PIT but DeSmith could be an above avg & cheap back-up for Blackwood for next 2 yrs
- IMO, Greene is 2016 Ron Hainsey 2.0 - He is still a very good Dman that can still skate & move puck even at 37.

BUFFALO Trade:
Knott & 5th Rdr FOR Girgensons
- I always thought Girgensons would have been better than he got in BUF. Maybe a change could boost his game ??
He plays a smart and physical game that the Pens lack & could be useful in a playoff run.

It’d be hard to lose Addison in an anaheim trade and not get manson back in return or getting miller from buffalo with maybe a mid-late pick.

Only one of these I wouldn't do is Desmith for Andy Greene and I'd rather keep Galchenyuk for scoring depth but the Rakell trade is good and I wouldn't be opposed to getting Girgensons as depth

I didn't read any of it, because like when telling a joke, if you need to explain it it doesn't work. Especially about 5 paragraphs worth of explanation.

Wo seeing why?
DeSmith is now their AHLer correct?
Andy is great depth and a good fit for teams like pitt

Because we probably won't be able to afford both Murray and Jarry next year so after we trade one of them Desmith would be the backup so we can't just give him up for a rental defenseman we could probably get for a 3rd or 4th rounder

Green doean't get traded to the penguins.

Rakell doesn't fix the power play because the problem isn't "having someone on the left wall"
If you watched the games you'd know they can't even enter the zone to set up so there is someone on the left wall.
They either dump the puck in with Dmen who are back and ready to just sent it right back out, or putz around a bad pass unable to cross the blue line.
Their PP sucks, and it has nothing to do with the players. It has everything to do with the coaching and the "game plan"
What they miss is Phil being able to skate the puck into the zone and make the right read on the 1st pass. Rakell doesn't fix that problem.
Not that I wouldn't like to see Rakell I would. But it's a pipe dream. ANA has no reason to trade him without it being a massive overpay that isn't worth it.

im not sure if I would do the deal to get Greene, for reasons stated above, DeSmith is critical goalie depth for after this season. But for this season alone getting Greene could really help with all the injuries to the defense.

I would love for the Rakkell deal to happen but I don't think Anaheim really wants to trade him. He is exactly what the pens need and the deal to get him in this scenario would be reasonable but from what I have heard the duck want to hang on to him unfortunately.

I could see the other two legitimately happening though.

Addison isn't an NHL lock. You're gonna have to do better for that Ducks package.

Rakell is actually leading ANA in zone entry % on PP, so yes he would help there and on left wall PP.
I'm just saying, if u need to get a top 6 guy, why not get a guy that can also help on PP too.
ANA is so bad, that they could deal anyone & they have young players or prospects at every position except RHD.

Like I said. I'd like to see him too.
But here is reality. You are the ANA GM right now. Do you deal him.
No you don't. Because you probably aren't replacing him with picks. You get picks to find the rare gem like him.
And while I think Addison will be a decent player, He's a guy you have to hide in the end due to his size. Much like Krug.
You don't trade top RWs who are 30 goal scorers for that and hope and dreams you hit on your pick.
ANA has no incentive to move him. They are a better team with him than without and they got him for a long time going forward. If he was on the end of a deal that's a different issue. But he's not.
