Swap with Kings

Description
*Update: I updated the trade to throw in a couple prospects to sweeten the deal. Thoughts?
This is an effort to try and clear up a few things in one move. The kings are clearly sellers. The pens can use a top six winger, a depth wing improvement, and possibly and defense improvement. This is the attempt to do that...

I still don't think that is enough for LAK. Plus Rutherford loves JJ, he would never trade him.

I think Pittsburgh would need to add a prospect or two to make this trade work.

Toffoli and Martinez are each worth a 2nd and a prospect. Lewis is worth a mid-to-late round pick. Galchenyuk isn't worth much more than a 3rd by himself. Kings would need some extra incentive to take back Johnson.

So let's say the 2nd and Galchenyuk for Martinez. The 1st + ??? + Johnson for Toffoli. 4th round pick for Lewis. You can keep that 7th.

Add in an expansion draft exempt B prospect and the Kings would probably do that. Someone like Almeida.

let me ask you guys a quick question. ive seen a lot of this "swap and let team X trade them for the return". So youre telling me, the kings should do double the work the penguins should do while also taking the worst players and contracts back. not to mention how garbage the offer is. Why in anyones right mind is LA going to discount their own trade to take galchenyuk. IF pitt was throwing chucky in to be flipped as an additional that would be one thing, but you cant use him as the package. theres absolutely no enticement for LA to do that.

Don't disagree. From a Kings' fan perspective, If the Kings saw a chance to get another 1st round pick, they might be willing to do the work. I agree there's not enough here to pull the trigger on this trade exactly as described, but the value isn't hugely off.

In Chucky's case, the pens could say hey, we can trade him for a late pick RN and give that to you, or trade him to you, have you guys showcase him, and maybe you'll be able to flip him for more than that late pick

"showcase" with what team? theyd be devaluing the player. even if he came in next to kopitar. like it wont happen when they are lined up to trade 5 players off the roster. already traded 2. toffoli, martinez, and lewis all in line to be moved...

Pitt had him next to malkin for a bit, idk how the kings can showcase him any more than that.

For a total of 3 full games, his most frequent linemates have been McCann Agozzino or Lafferty... Only 1 of those guys is an NHL calibre player...

Looks good. Don't know much about Almari, but he's expansion draft exempt and would just be an add-on to the main prospect return of Almeida. Worst case scenario, he's a filler for Ontario when guys like Bjornfot and Anderson get called up.

I think the Kings would seriously consider this trade.

I personally as pit wouldn't mind Almari, I really liked his game early in the year at least, he's really solid defenseively, obv not a force offensively, but I have him rated above POJ (though mostly bc I see Almari as a relatively low risk, low ceiling spec, POJ as a very high risk, average ceiling spec)

I just used the HockeyViz linemates chart that showed he played with Agozzino a lot more recently, looked like more than 40 or so mins, but ig that's bc he's been getting like 5 mins/game lol
