Sam Reinhart and Tyler Toffoli

Description
Tried something different. Losing Grzylcyk isn't ideal but with Vaakanainen/Lauzon/Zboril in the mix for next year plus the potential re-signing of Krug, Sweeney deals from a position of strength. Adding Sam Reinhart would solve the Bruins RW problems for years to come. I also think the Kings would gladly accept the deal for Toffoli.

There are multiple teams in on Toffoli, why would they take a low ball offer?

Why does Buffalo trade Sam?

Disagree. Grzelcyk is a really good puck moving top 4 dman. Heinen is a good NHL player. Steen is a solid prospect and Sabres acquire a 1st in a very deep draft.

Reinhart should be part of their solution, not a guy to trade for pieces

If the best Kings can get is a third, Bruins are including Senyshyn and not retaining.

Quantity/quality debate. How does a 4/5 dman, a 3rd liner, a prospect that has no guarantee of contributing in the NHL, and a late 1st get you a top line player?? That is a bad trade and no GM would accept that for their star players.

I know Kuhlman isn't a sexy name but he is a good young player. Everybody thinks that every trade requires equal value at the time of trade but that is never the case. Kings need futures as they will lose Toffoli for nothing. Kuhlman is playing good for the Bruins atm looking like an everyday player that plays with great speed and is responsible defensively. I bet the Bruins wouldn't make this trade.

Sure. Love to. Kuhlman is so much better than Senyshyn it’s silly. You just downgraded sir.

I assume he meant for Boston. Reinhart can coast his way to mediocrity in Buffalo for years to come.

Sometimes quantity fills a lot of necessary holes. With your thinking the Leafs should win the Cup every year. A team needs balance to be successful. This type of trade does exactly that for Buffalo. What success have the Sabres had with Reinhart so far?

Sabres aren't trading a key young piece for spare parts. That's not how you build an NHL team. Also your success point is a bad take.

That's a trade that should get Botterill fired and a possible trade request from Eichel.

Look how successful that was when they traded O'Reilly though.

This team needs a legit 2C more than anything. They already have an overabundance of defenseman, so Grzelcyk doesn't help that much, They don't want more prospects and picks, they want to compete now. They don't need more third liners because they already have so many. These just aren't the pieces that they need as a team. They need a 2C, a top 6 winger, and a starting goalie. If you're not getting any of that with a Reinhart trade, then what's the point? This just sets them back another few years.

He hasn't been part of the solution yet. I say this, the Bruins in the span of 15 years traded Thornton and Seguin both worse trades than the proposed for Reinhart who isn't on the same planet as Joe and Seguin , however those trades allowed the Bruins to add pieces elsewhere to the point of winning a cup and being competitive every year.

Not the point. LA is not taking a 3rd and a 3rd liner for him when they can get more. And Boston should not be trading Kuhlman anyway.

Doesn’t give them an excuse to be making bad trades. Also, you have to remember the bruins aren’t a joke of an organization

OK. So how much does Botteril sign Reinhart for after this season? Eichel/Skinner/Reinhart (???) eating a huge chunk of the cap... the Sabres will continue to be bad for a long time.

How many years later. Reino has also done more for the Sabres than Seguin did for the bruins. Reino has produced and been Jack's right hand man. Zero reason the Sabres trade him for anything less than a young bonafide 2c

Actually, it looks pretty on paper, but it isn’t that great for Buffalo. Reinhart, 2nd overall, 60+ points centre, playing behind Eichel, for a 3rd, 4th and 6th round players. That first won’t be the great either, as Buffalo would be drafting at the bottom. Upgrade with Carlo, Studnicka & the first.
