I don't think this deal makes much sense for the Hawks. Murphy can also play both sides and is extremely affordable. While Nurse would be an upgrade on the 2nd line, his cap hit he will require is more then the hawks should consider IMO.
De Haan is going to be really hard to move with 4 shoulder surgeries. In fact, I think there is much more risk his career is over versus Seabs.
Saad is definitely worth more then a late 1st. We should not trade him if we don't get a 1st and a A- prospect or 3rd round pick with it back.
Strome is a horrible option at the wing as he is not fast and plays a net front game. If we are looking to move someone upfront, IMO Strome is the player to move. He would get back a 1st and good prospect all day long but more importantly, could get a very solid winger back. With the emergence of Dach as the 2C, it makes Strome more expendable IMO then Saad. What the Hawks need is two way wingers with speed up front. Relying on Kane every game doesn't work.
For defense we should have
Keith - Boqvist
Murphy - Mitchell
Maatta (DeHaan) - Seabs
- Gilbert, Koekko (re-sign him)
On a smaller note, the cap will likely be $83M at a minimum and as high as $83.5M IMO.
