In isolation I agree with you. But in this hypothetical they might be able to do it since 4mil of Burns comes off the book and the UFA class next year isn't too great.

But the trade market might be. NYR and TBL need to move a forward

I'm personally not high on any of their available forwards like T Johnson Gourde Strome... unless Kreider signs but he's prob looking for a longterm deal which SJ shouldn't be giving out unless the dude's younger than 28 (I'd give CK a 4yr deal max since he'll be 29 by the time next season starts).
