I have been saying that habs fans are over valuing tatar but this is honestly not enough. That package excluding Gagner is a maybe but when you add him to the deal its not enough. He is a clear cap dump and has no real value to a habs team trying to retool a bit. This is way off imo

So it's essentially a cap dump plus a 2nd+3rd round pick for Tomas Tatar. Yeah that's not nearly enough for Tatar. That's atrocious for the Habs.

I don't think a deal would matter on how Montreal does this year. By the sounds of it Bergevin is more interested in keeping Tatar for next year, so any deal would have to be good enough to pry him out of Montreal.

Of course he is this trade is pure comedy. Tatar as been one of the best left winger for the last 5-6 season. He show consistency scoring 20 goal in 6 straight season. He is a great competitor and play the game on 200 feet. And last 2 season he have been one of the top forward in nhl he currently is 25th for point. The habs aren’t trading him unless the return is great and here it’s not the case.

That’s for the support. You have seem him play long enough in detroit to know the guys is a very good hockey players. Not a superstar but he stand is ground against most of players in that league. Got smooth hand around the net and play a complete game.

Honestly that's not a bad deal for either team, considering what the cost of getting a rental like Tatar this season and next would be, along with Puljujarvi's less than ideal relationship with them, EDM is getting a discount, but MTL is getting more than they would if they waited until next season and Puljujarvi might be able to fill the gap next season. I think it would depend on what year the 1st was in and if it was protected, although a conditional pick or two could sort that out, and if MTL had some assurance that Puljujarvi was going to be returning to NA.

This, That's pretty much equivalent to a 1st+2nd+3rd round pick pretty much what his value should be, 2020 1st round pick+Jess Puljujarvi= 2nd round pick+Dimitri Samorukov=3rd round pick.

He was always one of my favorite wing guys, Honestly i was more of a Tatar guy then a Gus Nyquist guy. I was kind of upset when Holland dealt him. But looking back now it was the right decision.

Yeah he always been very good for detroit, but i agree detroit was goiing nowhere and the deal they got for him was really solid consider is number at that time.
