Description
Some rumors floating out there. Not necessarily the first guy I would try to get... and his next contract could complicate things but it could be interesting.

Poulin is dominating in the Q on one of the best CHL teams. He's the big piece here that Montreal would want.

Ignore the negative cap number. The Penguins have over $5 million in projected deadline cap space. They can also put Guentzel on LTIR.

I don’t disagree that this package doesn’t get it done but Domi is a 50 point winger. I’d say he’s worth a 1st and maybe an okay to good prospect

domi isnt a 50 point winger. if he was playign with stable line mates, he'd near a ppg

Based off what? You are glorifying again but let’s look at the numbers

Domi Career

359 games 77g 166a 243p (.67ppg)

Since joining Habs

137 games 41g 67a 108p (.79 ppg) that’s a 65 point average but that’s with him having one great season. Logic and stats would say minus one hot season his career average and this season average is about 50-55 points. To only focus on 1/5 of his career is just foolish. He’s a great player but he’s not a ppg player. He’s never been a ppg player. Just silly to suggest that as a possibility when it’s never happened. Just saying

focus is also based on age. domi wont stick to having a 50 point career. he's 24. he's only going to get better. u arent trading for a 28 year old player. he's 24.

I agree and everyone develops at their own pace. For everyone 1 case in your favor there is a case in my favor. I guess you’d have to decide if Domi is worth a 6-8 million contract based off him improving to a more consistent 70-80 point player

Fair enough. Habs are good enough either way. Center depth is only going to get better. IMO Romanov is going to be a Norris guy in 5 years. I’m very hyped on him

Domi is a roster player, and he's young enough to fit into the Habs' current rebuild/reset. The Habs will want an equivalent roster player back, or a package of futures that will knock their socks off. Remember: He's still an RFA and he wants to play in Montreal.

Probably not enough offensive skill for that. I think his ceiling is a decent #2 D playing with an elite offensive #1D (Weber? Petry? They'll probably retire before he reaches his potential). More likely, he'll be a very good second-pairing, all-situations defenseman.
