Detroit isn't going to trade Mantha. That being said if they were going to trade him it would start with RNH.

Mantha isn't worth what you think he is:

"Expecting to get a first-round pick and a good prospect in return for a player who’s never had 50 points is optimistic."

laugh Get real Mantha was on a PPG pace until his rib injury after Jake Muzzin rode him down to the ice, Mantha has 24 points in 29 games the 50 point BS is just that BS. Mantha doesn't have to be traded unless there's an offer that just blows away Yzerman.

Nope take more then RNH to get Mantha out of Detroit, One of either Nurse or Bouchard has to be included for Yzerman to pull the trigger. Yzerman just said that he considers Mantha a key core piece. He's absolutely going nowhere.

"Get real"? I only quoted an NHL executive. But I get it: Wings homer knows better.

Ok but that is one nameless NHL executive's view and I did say Detroit isn't trading him. JP is an AHL player nothing more. Larson is a RD and Detroit needs a LD plus the way he has played this season he beats out Biega but competes with Daley for RD spot on the 3rd pair. Samorukov is the only piece worth anything coming to Detroit and he definitely isn't worth Mantha.

Yeah like one NHL Executive matter much, FWIW Mantha isn't available and that garbage doesn't get him anyways.

I'm not sure if Mantha is worth more at this point. Mantha's PPG is better than RNH's so far this season but the season isn't over yet. Until he puts up more points than him for a season or two or has a better PPG for a couple season in a row I don't see Mantha being worth more. Detroit trading Mantha isn't going happen any time soon imo.

The only thing is Mantha will be under team control long term, RNH could walk in a year. Need to be more added to RNH to balance that out.

RNH technically meets the UFA requirements at the end of this season but Edmonton has him under contract for 2 more seasons. Mantha won't meet UFA requirements for another 3 seasons. It's 7 seasons or 27 years old before June 30th.

It doesn't give the name of the NHL executive, what team he is from or what he does for that team.

Of course it doesn't. He wouldn't be commenting on other team's assets without anonymity.
