Is Deangelo being shopped

Explications
So NHLTRADERUMORS on instagram (take that however you'd like) reported that Deangelo might be too expensive for the Rangers to sign so they are shopping him. He's a player that I would love to see on the Bruins, and if the rumors are true he'd probably be one of the hottest items on the market.

The trade rumored in the instagram post was Jack Rolovic and a 2nd from the Jets for Deangelo (which seemed light to me). Or a 2nd, Julien Gauthier and potentially a 1st thrown in from the Canes.

If Deangelo is in fact on the market, A) Should the Bruins go for him and, B) what would a fair cost be?

Lol. Your best bet is to never trust anything that site posts. It's all false information and they never have reliable sources. It's click bait

Everything depends on whether or not the Bruins signs Krug. Also, DeAngelo finds himself in the same position as he is in NY, stuck in the 3rd pair

So he's going to be to expensive for the Rangers, but Boston can sign him with guys like Krug, Chara, DeBrusk and other all needing new deals. He's not even need as your playing him on your 3rd pair.

It's fun reading the crazy ideas they have though. Like yesterday they mentioned Eichel should be on the move from Buffalo.

And I think we're looking at Backes coming off the books, and potentially Chara too depending on how this season ends for the Bruins. And me having him on the third pairing doesn't mean I feel he isn't needed here. I think having that puck moving defensemen on the right side is immensely important for the Bs. You could rotate him and Carlo as the games progress depending on the need of the team. Need offense? Deangelo gets more time to try and get the breakouts going. Need to shut them down? Carlo gets more time against the top players to limit chances. And I think you could see him driving PP2 for the Bs. He's more Krug-like than McAvoy and I think that could help turn PP2 into a more reliable scoring unit.

I would hate to see them move on from him, but I do not think this deal gets it done. Also i wouldn't believe anything that site says but I am curious.

He currently sits 8th among defenseman in points. Curious to see what type of offers they get though, they would probably ask for Studnicka because why the hell wouldn't you and most likely if not definitely get denied.

I assume the price will be high though, I am a rangers fan obviously but young puck moving RHD who put up points are not cheap. Curious to see how other fans feel.

Why on earth would B’s need another undersized, offense 1st d man, especially on RD?

Even if Krug walks it’s not a need.

No thanks. Just don’t see a need or a fit.

As to the rumor. He’s an RFA will get a big raise. With Trouba, Fox, and Keane on the way he could be dealt for help elswhere. Especially if they decide to re-sign Kreider, they would not be able to afford both.

My assumption when I clicked the article is that the price would be sky-high, but to see Roslovic and a 2nd as their "top offer" was surprising. I would assume any deal revolving around a 1st would probably want an extension in place.

Its just not worth it for the Bruins with Carlo and McAvoy on the right side and another PP specialist in Krug. Would rather use the assets to get someone up front imo

With Sweeney's statement that Backes won't report to Providence, you have to feel that they're either actively looking to move him and his contract or that he might be looking at retirement after he gets his pay for this year.

That's fair. Seeing the post just got me wondering if he'd be needed/wanted and if it would be worth it for the Bs.

If Krug walks DeAngelo could easily run the 2PP .. it's not as bad as a fit as you make it seem

All evidence points to the contrary. If they could move him, they would have. I guess there’s the slimmest of chances that they agree on him retiring after collecting his bonus, but why wouldn’t the bruins tell him to play in providence if that was the case?

No, they’re planning on buying him out, so they don’t want him to get hurt. You can’t buy out an injured player. Count on the bruins carrying a $4 million cap hit for Backes next year. I don’t think it’s the right decision, but it’s clear that is the intent.

If I am assuming that he is too rich for NYR, I can't see Boston being able to squeeze him in even with their solid contracts

Mac and grizz can handle it.

Paying that much for what would be a 3rd pair guy is not worth it.

D'Angelo has struggled to play the offside in NY so I can't see him as a fit. N9w if Boston had indications that Chara was gonna retire or Krug was gonna test Ufa then maybe skjei would make sense but not D'Angelo
