Well, he's having an off-year compared to last year. So his value is lower than it should be... If you were actually thinking of trading him away, you:

- Bring him to arbitration;
- Get him to come back for another season
- and trade him next year.

But personally, I don't know why MTL doesn't just sign him to a long term contract.

I don't understand it. Its literally out of nowhere as if people are doing it on purpose to try and get a rise out of others. What blows my mind, is I can see fans of other teams trying to do it. Can't fathom fans of the Habs trying to incite other fans of the Habs........ Might as well start an AGM stating "That Gallagher needs to be traded, he's not 5 foot 9 enough...."

I'm watching the same games as everyone else and if you are coming away from the games thinking Domi is the one that needs to be traded, than I am completely baffled at this fanbase.

i'm so confused

Domi's a young RFA under 25 and clear choice to help lead the new youth core .
you'd be nuts to trade him over older UFA's just because he's struggling like the entire team is top to bottom outside Tatar alone .
Given what we paid for him and how PIT cant give Chucky away at this point i think we're winning with a younger top 6 player who's streaky. (sounds like Pacioretty and he had many 30 goal seasons . )

Habs can get more for Domi... they'll trade him only if his 'ask' in a new deal is over priced ie. in the $7M range. If he takes between $5-6 M per, for 4 or 5 years, then Habs can resign him. Also, Habs will likely use him as a 'top 9' LW going forward (Suzuki, Danault, JK and Poehling at C, Drouin, Tatar & Domi LW, barring any trades)

he's still on pace for 50+ pts which is already better than good ol Chucky. Don't forget the fact 50+ players are a "rare breed" in Montreal

By that same analogy, Nikita Kucherov's is having an off year compared to last year so his value is lower than it should be. Does that make sense to you?

I do admit that the MTL market is pretty unforgiving..... You're loved or hated by fans... There's no in-between.

KK is another one going through the ringer ATM

Yep, this market is banana's at times. The quintessential example of why a GM should never listen to the fans. (Not that the GM gets it right all the time either)

Welcome to Habs fanbase universe. I can confirm that it is sometimes painful to cheer for them along with these bipolar.

Oh 100%, that trade was an absolute steal from Bergevin. (2018 was a good year for MTL in terms of return on trades)

But he was 50ish point guy when MTL traded for him... and his return was Galchenyuk...

My point is that if MTL were to trade him this season, they would be selling low.

Lol..

As long as he's right most of the time..

As a Sens fan, when they traded Karlsson, I was livid. But now, it's starting to look like one of the best trades in Franchise history lol.. good thing PD didn't listen to me.

IN retrospect, that Subban/Weber trade is looking pretty good..
