Description

First the Sabres ownership is a joke. They have continuously botched bringing in the right personnel, for some reason refuse to seek help by hiring a president of hockey operations, spit in the faces of old Sabres legends by giving them fake Chinese jerseys and SPELLING THEIR NAME WRONG on said jerseys, show they don’t care about the fan base by refusing to upgrade the stadium and charging ridiculously prices for subpar food.

Second, Botterill is a joke. The man has become gun shy from botching the Ryan O’Reilly trade and has decided to never take another risk again, has failed to give this team any sort of offensive presence whatsoever, has shown horrible asset management on multiple occasions, and has built a horrendous team overall around a Hart-caliber captain in Jack Eichel. Unfortunately, Botterill is functioning like his job is secure next year like he has already sold the horrible ownership that he “has a plan.” Honestly, not that I trust ownership to make the right decision on Botterill’s heir anyways.

Basically, the future is ridiculously bleak in buffalo with such a poor top of the hierarchy and no evidence anything will ever get better. And ownership knows that they can get away with this horrible management of the franchise because they have market in Buffalo that has a massive love for the sport and for their team so they will keep paying while ownership keeps spitting in their face.

I don’t blame you one bit for the frustration. It seems like they take 1 step forward by acquiring a great player through the draft, then 10 steps back by idiotic decisions.

I actually read about the Chinese jerseys today. Also about the ownership group being critical of the media. I forget what it was exactly, but I’ll find it. Gimme a sec.

Honestly, the GM is doing the right things currently.
Look at the roster, he almost has a completely clean slate to work with.
I don't believe he did do the horrible Okposo deal. He got stuck with that.
But for the most part, it's not all that bad. He's cleared people out to rebuild the roster.
Which is exactly what a GM should do when he takes over a bad team instead of trying to constantly try in vain to salvage it.
So he's just getting started. You'll know if he's any good based on how they draft and how they refill that roster.
But the drafting isn't just on him. There is a whole staff and department for that.

You guys just suck at drafting and developing players. I'd say that's your biggest problem and its been that way for 2 GMs now. I mean other than Oloffson what player have they gotten outside of the 1st round with all those draft picks Tim Murray and Botterill accumulated that have made an impact? And even their first round picks are hit or miss. Reinhart's starting to come out of it but Mittelstadt has just been a disaster so far. They've drafted in the top 10 the past 7 drafts and drafted Ristolainen instead of Morrissey or Horvat, Reinhart instead of Draisaitl, Eichel, Nylander over Sergachev, Mittelstadt instead of anyone else, and Dahlin. That's more than half of their 1st round picks that they for the most part missed on.

I think Skinner is capable of being a 30+ goal scorer on Buffalo. I think he's proved that, and done it multiple times in his career. He can't do it all alone though.
I don't see that as being a bad contract yet. He's still under 30, he's got a lot left in the tank.

Yeah things started boiling over yesterday with this ownership just looking to have 0 accountability the horrible show they are running in Buffalo. I get that Botterill May need some patience from us fans, but honestly why do they deserve that from us? We’ve been patient for the past 9 seasons and have seen nothing get better.

Watching Eichel, who has been a fantastic positive attitude all year in buffalo, lose his crap and shatter his stick while denying interviews after the game last night is a perfect icon of Buffalo rn. They have 0 going their way
