Kawaguchi? lol

Jordan Kawaguchi. College free agent from the University of North Dakota. He's easily UND's best player, with 13G, 37P in just 25 games. He's probably going to win the Hobey Baker, and I really think he's going to sign in Ottawa.

Sens clearly love the UND Hockey Program, and Kawaguchi would enjoy playing with his former teammates in Belleville/Ottawa.

I knew who he was it was just funny signing another UND player.

UND is basically an Ottawa Senators feeder school at this point.

Fair to say they sign Shane Pinto too, he'd be a great addition even just to play RW for the playoffs.

He's having a great year, but there are still parts of his game he needs to work on, and he would be better served doing it in Grand Forks.

Next season he's going to be THE guy in North Dakota. Give him a year of that, and then reassess where he stands. He's looking like a great prospect, but he's not someone they need to rush.

I think Pinto is totally ready to play AHL next season BUT, just to be clear, I am FINE with leaving him AND Bernard-Docker in the NCAA for another year. AND if we end up drafting Byfield (and/or pretty much anyone else NOT named Lafreniere), I'd keep them developing in juniors if possible, or outside the NHL. Byfield will be a great player but he struggled to stand out at the WJC playing against kids who weren't much older than him. Why rush him. Next season is not a "go for it". No rush. We can get a another top 15 pick at the 2021 draft. Not even joking.
