Description

Wonder what people think of this: Helps Nashville's cap situation and gets Detroit a pick and a better middle-six center option. If Nashville waived Nielsen they would be on the hook for a buried cap hit of $1.55M for two years (cheaper than a Turris buyout for much less term). If they keep him up they're still saving $3.375M in cap. If Turris doesn't work out in Detroit he's got a favorable buyout contract ($2M cap hit for X years).

Might not be the utmost optimal deal for Nasville but just interested in opinions. For the duration of the Turris contract I kind of wonder if a second is enough. NJ second might make this more palatable.

Hard to evaluate trades like this. There won't be any more than 750k retained by either side here, and NSH wont retain at all based on past trades of Poile's.

Nielsen has almost surpassed Lucic, Backes and Eriksson as worst value player this year... I'd struggle to swap Loui for Frans even...

realistically this doesn't happen - in a fantasy, DET retains 750k and it's an even swap

Nashville will pass. Preds are not really in a cap crunch. If Bonino is moved they will have 15 million in cap space next year and probably not using much of it with the emergence of some younger players in the AHL.
