You cant guarantee a cup for anyone, let alone a top heavy team that adds an over the hill goalie. This isn't the NBA where you can name the Finals MVP before the playoffs start.

maybe its tough to say bc they have for the first time what looks like legit prospect goalie depth....Werner is in the AHL playing well, the have a solid Goalie prospect in Annunen who is primed to come over to NA. Unless they want someone to push Grubeaur for the starter job short term, or look at a way to keep their cap situation down after Grubis current contract is done.

Unless its a short term stop gap of keeping cost down, they probably just stand pat and let the goalie situation naturally unfold internally

We might be in a better cap situation by trading Hank, but we won't trade him for spare parts. He's still a top 10 goaltender after adjusted numbers. We're not that desperate to move him that we do a trade like that. If it's not him asking for a shot at the cup, this is insulting. Nobody on here seems to know anything about goalies. Any team would love to have Hank, even now.
