Columbus still says hell no. This is WAY off.

Marner and Matthews are signed to much longer term than Jones. And some time, Columbus might have to ponder a trade for player who is going to be a UFA in 2.5 years. Not saying he should traded this year. In his six NHL seasons, jones has won one playoff round. So its not like his addition to the Leaf is going to lead the Leafs to the promise land.

Nylander is a weird way to spell Marner..... anyways I doubt Columbus would consider moving Jones unless he asks to be moved publicly or in the final year of his contract if he won’t resign, and at this point neither of those will happen this year. So this is a no from Columbus.

Okay you can definitely make the argument that a 1 for 1 Marner for Jones, but saying Matthews is a joke. With how Nylander has been playing this year and the fact that his best hockey is still to come, its even arguable that he's worth Jones in a 1 for 1. The rest is all minutia and not necessary, I'll grant you that, but to even mention Matthews kills all your credibility.

Just felt Matthews was worth a mention because CBJ wouldnt do it unless either him or Marner were included, not saying that Matthews would be the one to go, just those would be the only 2 guys CBJ would move Jones for.
As for Nylander, hes been awesome this year, If he had a 70ish point year last year its a lot more realistic I just dont think he would be an option after having a very bad year last season. Another year of this year's play may change that
If I had to make an NHL 20 trade out of this it would be Anderson and Jones for Marner and Dermott or something along those lines. Picks would probably be added or maybe a Jones extension

There is a lot of fan bias here. Everyone would want Matthews if they could get him. But pretty much everyone would also know that he's pretty much impossible to trade for. The costs would be way too great.

If you think that bringing the good Nylander will help the **** Nylander somehow finally find his game (and wipe that stupid look off his face) as a Hawks fan I'd gladly give you Connor Murphy, and... Well hell, whoever else you want to take. Seriously, whoever else.
