Things the penguins don't want.
Subban.
Over paying for always injured Mantha.
Trading Schultz for a guy you have as a scratch.

This is just awful

subban at 4.5 would be so good. but no way NJD retain that much. pens would love him at that price though. and mantha would be great on Pittsburgh. id make that trade. POJ probably will be a bottom pair D, legare is years away, Björkqvist is probably an AHLer, and a late first

1st off that is not a good trade for Wings as they are rebuilding now and trading Mantha only sets the rebuild back. Also he is probably out for the rest of the year with a torn rib muscle.

He's always injured. He kind of reminds me of Bjugstad. When he's on the ice he's a good contributor. But he's never on the ice.

And Pernell is done. 4.5 million on that guy. Where does he play? He's a RD. You aren't going to sit Letang. Marino has shown he is more than capable of having a big role. Not putting Marino at 2RD would hurt his growth as a player. So I mean, where are you going to put him to make that work? You'd be paying 4.5 million for a guy who would be a 3RD. Why would you do that.

4.5 for subban is better than 5.5 Schultz. him and marino could rotate between #2 and #3 depending whose playing better. it would never happen regardless though

two questions ( while i see you arent a homer and objective answer is expected ) :

1) are you guys done with Schultz, he fell that hard after injury, right ?

2) what would be DeSmith price to get him out of AHL from TML ( i was thinking Timashov ( or 3rd ) + Hutchinson to cover Wilkes- Barrie ) ?

why why pay 4.5 for anyone to sit in a 3rd pairing role when the team could use that money better on a top 6 winger.
That is horrible cap management. They don't need him. His play is declining. It's a bad move.

Injury isn't the problem with Schultz. He's still the same player he always was. The emergence of Marino who is simply a much better player has made him a 3rd pairing offensive zone guy.
Marino looks like he could be a 1st pairing guy at this point.

1- we'll keep him for a playoff run. he'll play 3rd pairing for us and with our injury luck we could use him as insurance. he'll find a new home next year though.
2- I think that's more than fair. issue is... can leafs afford him? cause they couldn't at the start of the season hence why they didnt claim him for free

Boston and Winnipeg, MAYBE.

Those other deals are atrocious. Nobody wants PK Subban.
