Why is Ceci and his contract a liability? Ceci's contract expires, With the season 60% over his cap doesn't hurt that much for the reason And despite all the nonsense that is said about Ceci, he plays 20 minutes a game is on the PK. Looking at this bare stats for this year only, he's about equal Dumba and Manson who so many think are RHD saviours for the Leafs.

Matt Dumba has twice the amount of points, plays on a bad team and had 50 pts in his last full season...did you really just compare these 2 players ?!?!
Ceci is paid 2nd line dollars, plays 2nd line minutes but has 8 points. He's paid 4.5 mill to block shots.
Basically he's a 3rd line D, that's my point.

Well I guess Ceci can block shots. Thanks for ignoring the fact that that Dumba is minus 9 and Ceci is plus 10. Second pairing? Against a nonsensical term. Ceci hasn't been playing the PP because Barrie and Marner play that position, but Barrie is rarely on the PK but Ceci is a regular PKer. Sure Dumba is better in the long run, but again at what cost.
