Maybe, but he would be such a great fit here. I can’t help but think Detroit and Buffalo are natural partners here with their need for organizational picks and defensive help....

I think it depends on how Miller is valued and right now, he doesn’t have a lot....but he has term and he could have a bigger role in Detroit that he’s not getting here again he’s still relatively young

I do think the best player in the deal is AA and unfortunately there’s not a lot of center capable players on the market right now and that should help Detroit, plus he’s young versatile and fast

But I think he’s worth a second and good prospect regardless, maybe a late first

DET probably doesn't accept this, but I think there is organizational alignment between the 2 clubs. Nelson really has no value as a 27yr old UFA at the end of the season, and Miller would probably be the 3rd best RHD in the organization (behind Hronek and Seider), he may be in the Bowey range org wise (Bowey is 3 years younger, and ~2.8mm cheaper). VGK definitely sold pretty high on Miller, he was never known to have that scoring pace. Finally, with DET trying to clean house, he wouldn't really fit the model.

You could probably do something like this though:

BUF receives AA, Nielsen (50% retained), 2021 3rd round pick (lowest pick DET possesses)
DET receives Casey Mittelstadt, UPL, 2021 2nd round pick (lowest pick BUF possesses)

That works way better. Miller has no value for DET. He leaves as a UFA in 2 years and the rest of those guys are throw-aways. Mittlestadt and a 2nd rounder is way more in the ballpark, but still not what DET needs. It's pretty darn obvious what DET is looking for with AA and it's amazing how many people are not aware of that with these AA trades.

AA is a 15-20 G scorer, 40 point player. He had an inflated year. Hes not worth selling the farm for. Miller and Nelson or the 2nd

Yeah no reason to over pay for a 3rd liner because he had an above average shooting% 1 year but when he drops back to the median is a 15-20 goal scorer

It's hard to comment and sound knowledgeable if you only watch one team....I get it. If you need my NHL account I can provide.

Or maybe just watching mediocre (at best) Sabres hockey your entire life has muddled your viewpoints....idk

Yes my team is having a bad few years after dominating the NHL for 20+...the point here is you should start watching more hockey and actually learn about the players and the teams they play for before commenting on such value...all you're able to reference is point totals and +/- because you have no real frame of reference. Trust me no GM in the league is calling Yzerman and offering up a 3rd round pick for AA.

I already have referenced more stats in this conversation than those 2 and I didn't even reference +/- in any capacity (which is consistently terrible, thanks for bringing it up), nor did I say he's getting traded for a 3rd round pick. Maybe you shouldn't skip English class to argue hockey on the internet. Wait till you get home and spend your good boy points for an extra hour on the computer and do it then

All you referenced was goals and shooting %, both stats that completely lack any team-related context, and then implied that he's worth no more than 2nd rounder....nonsense.

Again, if you need my NHL account I'm happy to help you educate yourself

The only troll job is coming from the guy commenting on a team and its player, both of which he doesn't watch....sad really.
