the vats deal looks like a major loss for the devils. Despite his recent AHL production, Juolevi still cant crack and NHL roster (on a defensively thin Nucks team mind you) and the rumors still scare me. Also a vats deadline deal would only carry about a 1mm cap hit if he is traded at the deadline. there will be a lot of teams that will be able to take that. On the other hand, the Eriksson deal is just such an albatross . IDK how you can justify two more years of that to ownership when you already have cory in the AHL. Plus, there are legitimate free agents to be had this summer. you can spend $10mm for those guys not to play, or potentially buy out Cory, pay out 2mmx4 years, and save 4mm against the cap for the next two years
